Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?

Recommended Posts

I would be more SIZE motivated if sizes were actually standard, but I can now an old pair of 14s but can't fit into another 18 and some 16s are too loose and some very tight. So much for sizes.

Ya it sucks sizes aren't standard anymore. I've picked one store's size chart as my "guide" and that's what I'm comparing myself against. I've chosen Old Navy. Gap is sized a size smaller than Old Navy.

Speaking of Old Navy sizes, when I got sleeved I was in between a 26/28 and I'm finally down to a 24! I haven't been a 24 in quite a few years!!! :)

I agree so many sizes out there are all over the map. I'm basing my size goal on a good ole pair of Levi's. From what I've noticed, they still go on pretty normal - not too big and not too small. Once I get into a Size 8 NON STRETCH pair of Levi's - I'll see if I want to get into some 6's or just keep myself in those. :)

Gee, I'm not even sure what my goal weight is!! Clothing sizes have changed so much, I have no idea what size I'll be. I know for sure that I do not want to buy my pants in the women's department any more! I'm getting close to getting out!!

Tried on a few pants in a size 6 today and they all fit (and some quite loosely, I must say!), so I guess I'm officially a 6. WEIRD! I can't believe I'm a size 6 with 38.5" hips. And then I went to Gap the other day and I found that their x-small tops fit me better than the smalls...I'm a D-cup, how could I be an x-small? Can you say VANITY SIZING?

I guess thinking about it, I would have to say that I'd like to be around a size 8 or 10. While I cherish the thought of someday actually being thin, I want to be healthy more than anything. Right now, I wear a size 20 that is slowly beginning to feel a little loose in the waist area, Only when those size 20 jeans begin to feel really big and baggy will I know that I've achieved a good weight loss.

Coming from a 24/26, I feel in heaven at an 18/20 only 4 months out. I would love to see a 12/14 by 1 year out.

I love this thread too. I definitely don't want to become a slave to the scales, so I like the idea of sizes. Sadly though, I have no idea what to shoot for. Like some of you, I will probably start out with one size, then lower it as I begin seeing the shape my body takes as I lose weight. Maybe a 10 or 12?? Y'all are blowing my mind with the single digit talk, never did I think that was even possible. But I do need to consider it since I am 5'4" and pretty small boned.

I've never done a lot of clothes shopping anywhere due to my weight. However, I know I have a Diva trapped inside me anxious to eacape. I LOVE shopping for purses and shoes. I have lost weight pre-op, about 30 lbs, and I went and bought a pair of yellowbox flip flops in size 6!! I think they are made a little small, but my usual size is 7-7 1/2. It's weird to already need a smaller shoe haha. I've dropped a size in pants too. I'm in 24 pants now. I am getting antsy now and I want my sleeve NOW lol. Y'all are so inspiring!

I would LOVE to be in an 8. My sister is a size 8 and we look a lot alike. It's weird ot me to look at her and think OMG....that's what I'm gonna look like! :) I was in a 16 in high school and a 12/14 in junior high. I honestly can say that I do not even remember being in an 8. That would just be heavenly to me. Tried on a suit for church this past Sunday that I have held onto for years. The top totally fit, but the pants were snug....zipped up all the way, but snug. Anyway, I decided to take them off and try again this week. When I did, I noticed they were a..........SIXTEEN!!! I stood there crying in the closet in disbelief! I can honestly say that sizes matter WAY more to me than the scale and I know I will rejoice with every new size. :) going to try to go garage sale shopping this weekend for some 14/16's b/c that one suit is the only 16 thing I own! LOL! Fun thread....makes my heart happy just thinking about it.

Pre-op, I was a 18/20 on the top and 20/22 for pants. I said at the time that I would be happy just seeing a 10/12 again. Now that I'm in a 10, I would rather be a 6/8. So, guess we are never happy just where we are.

If I don't lose another pound or go down another size, at least I am in way better shape physically (no hyperlipidemia or sleep apnea) than I was a year ago. Still, I'd rather be smaller and sometimes wish I'd had the bypass.

My goal was to be an 8 but I ended up a 4. I wouldn't have thought I'd be that small. I've gained a little weight since I had Lipo in July, very weird, but I'm still a 4. But I definitely think sizes have shifted. What's now a 4 would have been a 6 20 years ago.

I thought I be happy in size 10. But my 10' s came and went. I'm a6 now but they getting loose so a 4 is looking pretty good to me. I'm 5. 4. So I'm short. And at150# I wear a size 6. I do have slot of muscle. The body composition scale shows it.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
