Ok so I'm on regular food finally :) I am trying new things and learning. I luckily still haven't had a problem with keeping anything down. eggs were almost an issue, but I stopped eating. I have this really super annoying craving for popcorn. What is the rule on that? Is it allowed? My dietician is on vacation and if it's allowed I'm going to make me one of those single serve packs :)

Well... for most people, it's really not conducive to losing. It's a good, healthy snack if you're where you want to be, but it's solid carbs for the most part (plus some fat from the oils).

The problem I have with popcorn is that "just a bite or two" leads to "OK, just one more..." and it's waaaaaaay too easy to eat waaaaaayyyyy too much of it -- like a whole bag. Think the sleeve won't hold that much? Imagine that light, airy popcorn ground down and then packed down with a little Water. It's not too tough to eat a whole bag.

I'm not condemning popcorn, I LOVE it...but it can be dangerous and if you're really sensitive to carbs, it won't help you lose.

I am 9 weeks out from surgery. I crave popcorn too, it has actually been my only craving. But like the other post says it goes in to easy. I do eat it, but I have to watch closely actually i measure out 1.5 cups and throw the rest away immediately because I figured out that I could eat all of it. But i have never had any trouble digesting it. Good luck to you.

Due to the "hulls" and potential for lodging in the staple line, I was told to wait at least 3 months before trying popcorn.< /p>

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Have you guys ever heard of Puffcorn? I think that it is a "cheetos" product. Anyway, it looks and tastes like popcorn, but the pieces are really "manufactured" so it's not real popcorn, therefore no hulls, etc. The pieces sort of disolve in your mouth, they are light and airy. 1 serving is like 48 pieces and is 160 calories. (I have one daughter who LOVES puffcorn...lol) I imagine you could eat about 10 pieces and count it as part of your carb intake.

Not that I'm recommending you eat it. I am quite sure there are no redeeming qualities and that this would surely qualify as junk-food. But maybe ask your NUT about it, if it could help with your craving for popcorn.

I agree popcorn is a slippery slope. JUST think about how big those tubs are at the movie theater...how everyone can just easily chow down on that much popcorn!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
