Is anyone else having a problem I found the new Content but when I go to click on a post it goes so slow it almost freezes up my computer. I did not know if it was just me or my computer.

Like the new site but I do not like advertising about meeting women with names like "Honey Bunny." I know advertising makes this possible but advertising should be appropriate. Call me old fashioned...

Fit.

I am at work 12+ hours a day so I check on the forum at work. I can't do that now, with the very first thing spashing across my screen are photos that members have recently uploaded. I don't want my computer screen filled with brightly colored photos of people in bathing suits and hospital gowns! Discretion is the name of the game.

Alex, I can deal with the changes here - if we must - but pllllleeeeeeeze hurry up and fix the iphone version! I can't even use it at all! I'm supposed to downloand a "forum reader" app and upgrade my (dying) iphone, etc. Also, the new iphone forum has no new content link, etc., etc. And here we thought the old iphone app was bad, this one is terrible! You're killing me!

Thanks!!!

Alex my man, you have your work cut out for you! I tryed to show my husband the befor and after pics.. it was hard to navigate to see more than one pic in an album. It was the first time he was interested in seeing what I have been looking at, and got bored and left because I couldnt find the "after" pictures to go with the "Befores". Thanks, I know you are probably already losing sleep getting this thing together....

I'll just toss out there that it's really cumbersome to navigate through the site. Trying to find the USER CP was next to impossible, I don't care for the colors, but I can deal with it. I also being able to put my mouse over the thread topic and getting a preview of the post.

I know it'll take some time, but I sure do miss the old VST. I also hate that I lost all my privacy settings. The new notifications are kind of weird, and I'm not digging the chatroom feature at all.

Will there be a way we can set a default font size and color again? Am I just missing that option somewhere? I've checked through all the options and didn't see it as an available feature.

ok, I second Tiff's comment about the mouseover needing to come back, especially for those of us that have crappy internet... Also, where is my personal collection of stuff that I have posted? Can't find them in the CP... I'm a firm believer in; If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Not likin it so far but trying to keep an open mind...

There is a "mouse over" option. If you mouse over the topic there will be a little green icon that looks like a piece of paper pop up. Click on that and it will give you a preview. It will show the first and last post.

Hey Diva,

Thanks for that but nope, not getting the green piece of paper... bet it's an OS thing... I'm still on XP on this computer, will try my other laptop that has windows 7. Still frustrating that I might have to use one computer for one feature and another for other features... ugh!

Thanks again,

C

Not working for me on Microsoft Vista, and Firefox. I'm not using Internet Explorer anymore, and if the title doesn't grab my attention then I'll just move on to the next topic.

Awwwwwwwwww CORRECTION: I see what you're talking about. It's not something I can see easily on the page. It only pops up if I move my mouse over that general area of the thread title.

Glad you found it! I just clicked on it out of curiosity myself. I do also have Firefox and Windows Vista, so it should work for anyone really...

Oh!! :o I DO see it! But definitely WaY more cumbersome than before... I must be getting old...

Anyone notice how formatting just gives you html tags now too instead of the actual formatting...? Good grief. And why did we make these changes...?

The advertising is a little bit much -- I realize it's needed to pay for the site, but does it have to consume 1/2 of the page?? I too would also like to see where people are from. I'm not a real fan of the pinks and purples, but I can get over that.

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
