YIPPEE!! my thyroid is shot

Recommended Posts

I have hypothyroid and the weight loss is awfully slow. On my 1 month post op my nutritionist was very unhappy with the NO LOSS. He thinks it has to do with my thyroid. I am not consuming as much food or cal yet the weight don't seem to come off.

I would like to know if it would be good idea to see a specialist (endocrinologist) or just my regular doctor.

I am very disappointed with this. Sometimes it feels as if nothing ever will work for me. :001_tt2::thumbup:

I would def see an endocrinologist to manage your thyroid levels. they test more than just the TSH that most regular Dr's just test you for.

Your experience is what i'm totally afraid of.

i'm on synthroid also and you'll be amazed at how much of a difference it makes. The thyroid not only controls metabolism but can also effect your mood too. A few times throughout the years I've been slack on getting my Rx filled and I can definately tell the difference...once you're on meds though it's for LIFE. Good luck with the remainder of your weight loss...if you do need medication the rest should just MELT off. :001_tt2:

it feels silly to ask this but, what ways can I rev up my metabolism without drugs? I do a brisk treadmill walk for 30 min every morning and take in 600 cals a day with 70+ grams of Protein.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
