  1. I have stalled pretty bad. It's been two months and I have not lost a pound. I know my thyroid is not functioning well. I saw an endocrinologist last week and have a follow up appointment on Monday. I am also upset with the food intake. I can pretty much eating everything. Even a bagel (half) which was impossible to eat during lap band. I have a little hope and anxiously awaiting to see what doc has to say on Monday.
  2. I have hypothyroid and the weight loss is awfully slow. On my 1 month post op my nutritionist was very unhappy with the NO LOSS. He thinks it has to do with my thyroid. I am not consuming as much food or cal yet the weight don't seem to come off. I would like to know if it would be good idea to see a specialist (endocrinologist) or just my regular doctor. I am very disappointed with this. Sometimes it feels as if nothing ever will work for me. :001_tt2::thumbup:
  3. Iowagirl Don't be disheartened. I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and I gained weight after the surgery. Weight will fall off in few days. Just continue following your doc's instructions rigidly. It does help. Good luck to you! Oh by the way I have lost 23 lbs so far.
  4. That is great. I have lost 20 lbs including my pre-op diet and sometimes I feel very disappointed. Its been 10 days since the surgery and I am still on liquid diet (per my doctor's instructions) and the weight loss is slow.
  5. I was sleeved on Aug 16th, released on Aug 18th, no complications, however, when I weighed myself on 18th I was up 10 lbs. My doctor said it was due to the IV fluids. So don't be discouraged. Best of luck for speedy recovery.
  6. KKB Forest park medical center is the best hospital. I was sleeved on Aug 16th and i have no words to praise that place. The private room is no less than a 3 star hotel room. You will love it. The staff is superb..... I wish you all the best and good luck for the big day... Take care..
  7. Jamie I was sleeved on Aug 16th and released on Aug 18th. I am doing absolutely great (other than normal incision pain which is declining day by day). I had some problems for first three days to consume liquids, however, as of Thursday I have been able to drink well (slowly though) with no issues. Give yourself another day and you should be fine as well. I am now able to drink Protein drinks at slow pace. I am also experiencing some diarrhea here and there, but my doctor said it is normal. He said, liquid in - liquid out. Hope this helps.
  8. I had my surgery on Aug 16th and everything went well. I do not have any gas pains, just the normal incision pain. In fact today I am feeling much better. My only concern was that i had lost 15 lbs during my pre-op diet and i weighed 241 on the day of surgery. When I weighed myself on Wednesday I was at 251 lbs. I called my doctors office and they said this weight gain is due to IV fluids. I am not able to drink much but I am trying hard. Have my first post op appt on Tuesday Aug 24. Wish everyone good luck and speedy recovery.
  9. I am on my way to the hospital. Very nervous. Please pray for me that everything goes well. Thanks

  13. I appreciate your response and encouraging words. I think I will stop worrying about these things at this time. I am just two weeks away from the surgery. I am really looking forward to this now. Thanks everyone.... for support.
