susieq~watch your fruit juices, I was told to stay away from them (some are loaded with sugar. how much liquid/water are you taking in?

I was told during the clear liquid and full liquid stages, as long as they are no sugar added fruit juices (and if cranberry, diet cranberry) I could have them. Considering that I consumed about 12 oz yesterday and two 4 oz sf Jello cups in total for the day, I don't think I have to worry about the calories yet. Today, I'm really trying to work on this giant Isopur, which has 40 grams of Protein, but it's slow going. I thought I'd be much better at this. But I have not lost my determination, determined1!

I will be sleeved tomorrow. I'm getting excited now. Trying to finish up everything around the office before I leave for 12 days. I had my Protein Shake for Breakfast and another with yogurt and Fiber for lunch then just clears for the rest of the day. I also have to have 6 glasses of plain Water between 4 and midnight. There is no way I'm gonna sleep tonight. I'm gonna be too nervous plus I'll be up to pee all night. No other prep needed.

Good Luck to everyone who's in the next few days. I don't know when I'll feel up to being on the computer. I'm hoping to be back home Thursday.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and all the information.

Tracey

tdov1: Good luck on your surgery tomorrow, good idea on taking extra liquids before surgery. I remember when I had my band repaired back in December I didn't take extra fluids the day before surgery and to top it off I had a glass of wine, I was super dehydrated after surgery. So this time I'll make sure I take in extra liquids. Take care.

dbernier01: I will also have my band removed on Sept. 16. and will be sleeved. I've thought of telling my surgeon to wait on the sleeve if he thinks that there will be complications doing the revision. Depending on wether he thinks my stomach should heal a bit more before the revision.

tdov, see you on the losers bench! We are going to be sleeve sisters now :)

I had my band removed yesterday -- but it was a no go on the sleeve -- so I'll be back in 9-12 weeks for that .....Big time BUMMER..

bern, I'm so sorry to hear that! That is my one worry I have. But, take it like this - at least your surgeon was caring enough not to push it. Just keep your eyes to the future and rest, heal and you will be sleeved in no time. Time flies! I got my date 5 weeks ago and now it's already set to happen tomorrow. Wow!!!

acs, Im getting a revision as well. I only hope it has not done so much damage that I will not be able to get my sleeve. Well I will know by tomorrow afternoon.

OK everyone, my big day is less than 24 hours away! I'm going for my preops in just a few hours. It's here!!! Its FINALLY here!!!!

Hi there,

Surgery is scheduled for September 20th with Dr. Pompa in Tijuana. Anyone else booked for then or the next couple of days following? Would love to hear from anyone who had Dr. Pompa for their surgeon. I have 60+ lbs. to lose. Good luck to all that are soon to be sleeved!

LilMissDiva: Don't worry I think you'll be sleeved fine. I'm just paranoid that my stomach, where the lap-band was oversewn won't be smooth enough for the sleeve. My surgeon said that he planned on putting a mesh in that area and then oversew it to assure against leaks. Even then I'm worried about that. The ideal for me would be that he oversew the entire staple area, but he doesn't think that's necessary. Anyway, good luck tomorrow.

I so wanted him to push forward -- told him I'd be one of his 30% chance of patients that could get the sleeve in same surgery -- but if a band removal should only take 1 yr and mine took 2-3 that confirms the adhesions, scar tissue, etc -- I worry for those who 10 yrs from now get band removed, doc's will have to cut off that part of the stomach to get it out. I am so glad I did this now and did not wait.

re: mesh..... I would expect the reason is that the top part of the sleeve which as the most risk for leaks is in that area. And that is where the band is/was.... so take out the band and it's now red, inflamed, and torn (due to the adhesions, etc).

donna - banded 7/07, removed 9/10, sleeve planned 11/10

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
