Ricotta Bake

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried this with cheeses other than the parmesen? I was a little out of it at the store yesterday and bought mozerella by mistake instead of parmesan. I'll get the parmesan eventually but wondering if it will work with mozerella.

I tried this today, and it was great, I changed it a little, I added the parmesan in the mixture, and sprinkled the top with mozzarella-yummy

I finally made this a few days ago and it is heavenly!!! :thumbup1:

After following the original recipe, I took it out of the oven and added a layer of high quality jar spaghetti sauce and a layer of mozerella on top of that. I then baked it for another 10 minutes or so to heat the sauce and melt the mozeralla. I put several servings in my little mini glad tupperware bowls to have on hand in the fridge that week and put the rest in the freezer. I love this recipe because it tastes great and goes down easy.

Would I be able to incorporate some unflavored Protein Powder before I bake it? Would the powders bake well? Because it's only about 5 grams Protein per serving this way and if I add the powder I could get 10 grams per serving.

From what I've read, the heat might do wierd things to the powder if you don't mix it with a lukewarm/warm liquid before baking. Maybe you could try mixing it with some sauce or with the ricotta before baking. Unfortunately, the unjury powder made me want to hurl so I didn't get to experiment with it much. Good luck.

Whoever invented this is BRILLIANT!! So delicious, so tasty, yum yum yum!!! I put the sauce on right away and baked it with the sauce which I think made it even richer. I wonder what other veggies would work with this, zuchinni (sp)? squash? I'm sure mozzarella would be great in this, maybe even feta. I used a smoked bacon flavored Tomato sauce so I got a hint of porky goodness during my mushy stage. Deeeelish!

Mozzarella doesn't mush up very well, not matter how much you chew, once it's been melted. Just keep that in mind.

Oh I'm out of the mushy stage and by the time I have access to a kitchen I'll be on real foods completely. I wonder if some kind of crunchy topping would work with this ...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
