NSV shout outs

  • Popular Post

Hi all. I am now down roughly 60 pounds and seven weeks out from when I started my liquid pre-diet. Am also having some awesome NSV moments. Some are:

  • No longer wearing 3x shirts. They are packed and ready to be taken to Goodwill.
  • My size 48 (expandable) pants? Gone too.
  • Can button my pants at my belly button. No more "slant pants."
  • I wore a much smaller belt...and it was a new one!
  • Went three days this past week without needing a mid day nap.
  • Three days now without any slimes or throwing up.
  • Joined a local health club to work out.
  • Snoring is all but gone. No more BP meds at all (125/65 is normal now). And BMs much more normal and less stressful.
  • Bought myself an I-touch. That was my 50 pound loss gift to myself. Any suggestions for the 100 plateau?

That's a short list, but ones that come to mind.

Please, share yours!

Let's look at the fact that this journey is not just about the weight loss, but about all the wonderful things that continue to happen along the ride!

Today, I had one that is kind of cool.

I had to take the ball dress to the tailor for some hemming. After she pinned the hem, she said "you know we really need to take in the sides a bit, this area flares out and I can fix it to fit you better." Okay, huge smile, I was like "okay, do it."

I did share with her that I had surgery and had an old shirt that I would like her to look at and see if she could tailor, take it in as I can now wear it as a dress. Literally, it comes down just above the knee now. Anyways, after I put it on, and she kept trying to pin it, to make it look right, she decided that it was just "too much fabric to cut away, and it would not look right after the alterations." She looked at the size (26/28W from Cato), and she said "good lordy, no wonder, 3 of you could fit in that thing." I had another old fat shirt that she was able to alter down for me, and I love it, I'll be able to wear it with a little pair of leggings and heels. I'm super stoked.

After the thrill of getting back into the size 16 jeans which I was able to wear for a brief month or so six years ago, I was able to actually wear them comfortably while camping this weekend. Sitting in camp chairs, bending, squatting, all good!

As an added bonus, even after eating things I shouldn't have all weekend (something I've always struggled with while camping, even if I'm prepared with lots of good food... haven't figured that out yet), I came home 2 1/2 pounds lighter yesterday than I'd been 3 days before. YAY! And, that puts me officially lighter than I've been in the last 16 years. 3.1 pounds more and I'll officially be out of the 200's... FOREVER!!

That is so great! I haven't weighed what I weigh now for over 20 years. I wish I had gotten this surgery years ago!

Bought a swim suit yesterday...size 14. I have not worn a 14 since high school! It fits very well! I am soooo happy with my sleeve!

Woohoo Cajun. I entertained the idea of buying a bathing suit yesterday then I chickened out.

I love wearing my bathing suit now with my little board shorts. I have to say from that all the working out I do, my thighs have never looked better!

well got onto the scale this morning (won't be changing the ticker til Monday though) and guess what i saw??? 248 lbs. . . i actually began to worry a bit. . I haven't weighed that in I don't know when. . .maybe in the beginning of high school cause i weighed 220 at 12 yrs old. . . it's really freaky how good this sleeve works, but scary at the same time. . . ok, so now on Monday if i'm like 245 that will really get me. . .hahahahaha wanting to loose weight for so long and now i'm worrying about it. . . stupid huh????? anyone else got weird like this????

My best NSV so far is my SIL telling me I looked good. In a text but none the less... We have always had a little battle with our weights. When she was skinny I was fat, vice versa. She is not a her thinest but a nice size. I just wish we could get back to the best friends we used to be. But her sending me the text really brightened my day yesterday!

Wearing size 4 Ralph Lauren stretch jeans, and size 28 leggings in different brand. Definitely shrinking. My chiro. keeps asking me HOW MUCH weight have you lost now? The beauty shop gals keep telling me how good I look.....it's nice, but almost getting a little embarrassing like "you guys, do something else for a minute, stop looking me over like a prime grade roast or something." LOL!!

I bought a size 14 swimsuit from Costco. It is baggy in the stomache. My waist is so little. I am not taking the protein any more, I am still losing. I am still exercizing, but, my thighs are a mess. I am gonna keep at it. Never give up. I am sooooo, loving life as a 14 going down.

Carolyn, as far as I know your body needs the Protein so keep supplementing with it. I lost a lot of hair with the weight loss; it'd probably be more if I wasn't taking extra protein. You also need it for other reasons; I'm sure others will be more knowledgeable.

Lost 50lbs so far and I soon will be looking for a bathing suit...eeeeccckkkk. I'm in a size 14 as of today and can't believe how my clothes fit. I would be happy to be in a size 10! But not looking forward to trying on bathing suits!

Ha ha...that great pumpkin! What a great victory. Can't say I was celebrating any medium tags yet, but I swam for 30 minutes this AM instead of reclining in the chaise lounge!
