Here they are - size 10, 163 lbs. a little tight but I can zip and button them.

My friend found the picture of me 2 years before surgery. I'm not sure what I weighted but I weighted more right before surgery. I think I might have weighed 225-230.

I went on a hike up a mountain to the peak to watch the sunset with someone who is way taller and fitter. The hike down was in the dark, with headlamps and flashlights. I set the pace and we made great time. 6 or so miles round trip 2200ft elevation gain - and I rocked it...woo hoo!!!!

I went to a family potluck last weekend. There was a family friend there that I haven't seen in a while. He said "When did you get so tall?" I thought it was because I was wearing heels, but then I figured out he was saying (in a nice way) that I wasn't so WIDE. It was cute!

My daughter and son in law are traveling to China for a ten month teaching gig. they were packing and wanted to weigh their bags (50 pound limit), but he weighs 255 and holding the bag exceeded the 300 pound limit.my daughter did not want to see her weight so she did not want to do so. it took a few minutes but then i realized, holy cow i no longer nearly weigh that much i can hold it. and i wasnt bothered by the non early morning weight.

go figure. Never would i have voluntered for such an embarrassing chore. it is not embarsing to my son in law becasue he is 6'7" and muscular basketball player.

Love this post! My new NSV's are:

We went to the State Fair and walked for 7 hours and I didn't complain or constanting have to sit done- I am stoked!

- The 2 pair of really tight jeans that I was saving to fit into are now too big for me!

Hi all. I am now down roughly 60 pounds and seven weeks out from when I started my liquid pre-diet. Am also having some awesome NSV moments. Some are:

[*]No longer wearing 3x shirts. They are packed and ready to be taken to Goodwill.

[*]My size 48 (expandable) pants? Gone too.

[*]Can button my pants at my belly button. No more "slant pants."

[*]I wore a much smaller belt...and it was a new one!

[*]Went three days this past week without needing a mid day nap.

[*]Three days now without any slimes or throwing up.

[*]Joined a local health club to work out.

[*]Snoring is all but gone. No more BP meds at all (125/65 is normal now). And BMs much more normal and less stressful.

[*]Bought myself an I-touch. That was my 50 pound loss gift to myself. Any suggestions for the 100 plateau?

That's a short list' date=' but ones that come to mind.

Please, share yours!

Let's look at the fact that this journey is not just about the weight loss, but about all the wonderful things that continue to happen along the ride! :001_tongue:[/quote']

I think you should get yourself a Mustang Shelby at 100 lbs.

My daughter and son in law is staying with us for a month awaiting their flight to china. He is 6'7" muscular and clearly has an athletic build. He also eats an unbelievable amount of food, but that is besides the point. My wife was doing laundry and I just moved into large sized underwear and turns out i bought hanes which is the same thing he wears. we could not tell his apart from mine! when i see me I do not see myself being the same size as him, but there it is.

Still waiting for a change in clothing size, but...this morning I put on a shirt that I don't wear a lot because it bunches above my [extensive] hips. Today the tail of the shirt slid right down over my hips/jeans and is hanging straight all the way down. Woo hoo! Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference!

I mowed my front yard and it only took me 20 mins instead of 45mins!! Plus my yard is very steep so I was so happy with that. Plus I can now bend down and touch the ground which I haven't been able to do in years. Can I just say I'm over the moon!!!!

I can get my fingers around my wrists again! I also can no longer rest my laptop on my tummy. I have to say that the tummy desk is kind of missed. I will gladly trade it for a flat stomach though!

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
