A good way to avoid the mucus is too have something warm/hot about 20 to 30 mins before each meal. I usually have a hot tea of Decaf coffee. The warm liquid seems to loosen and break down the goo. I am able to eat a greater variety of food after something warm. I don't seem to "slime" as often after the warm beverage.

By the way, PB is productive burping. It's when something is too large or not chewed well enough to pass through the band. I usually only have this problem if I am not paying attention to what I am doing, like talking on the phone or driving and eating at the same time. It isn't really throwing up as there is no stomach acid in it, it is whatever you just ate, sometimes brought up by a burp, sometimes it takes heaving. Sorry to be graphic, but that's the facts. ~Mandy

Hello everyone-

How are the holidays going? It is a lot harder than i thought it would be...cookies and bad stuff like that go down without a problem!

I think the meet-in idea is a great one! Let me know if you need any help. Do we want to plan something for January?

Melissa

Hey all!! I live in the Joliet area and am being banded on January 15th by Dr. Lahman in Joliet.

I would be interested in getting together with others in the area!

What is good for everyone? I would love to plan something like the texas girls are doing, they are meeting at cracker barrel so they can have lunch and coffee. Then sit and talk and drink more coffee. Sound good to everyone? ~Mandy

I can't do breakfast foods at all, but will gladly have hat tea or coffee. Where is central for everyone? I can travel, no problem. ~Mandy

I start my liquid diet on the 1st, and I am to be banded on the 15th. Pre-band I can have coffe, I think (Mandi?).

I live in Channahon. I would drive, though. Breakfast or lunch is fine as long as it's on a weekend. dinner any night is fine for me as well.

I was allowed coffee with no cream on the liquid pre-op, same for liquids after, I was allowed to have cream on the whole liquid phase after. I'm in Romeoville, not far from Channahon, who is doing your surgery? ~Mandy

Lala, what's AVM? I haven't been here that long so that's not something I am familiar with. I love Doc Lahman, he is my aftercare doc, and he did my gallbladder surgery last feb. He's the greatest! Tell him Mandy said Hi!! ~Mandy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
