Honeycrisp apples are back in season. I went about 4 months without them and it was difficult to replace them as my afternoon snack.< /p>

Today I am 4 weeks out and have been afraid to try apples. I bought several honeycrisps the other day and my granddaughter wanted one tonight so I fixed hers and took a slice for myself. It was wonderful !! Will definitely have some more.

Apples gave me problems early on....so they became one of the foods I now avoid....I may have one or 2 slices, peeled of course... as is the case with many raw fruits and vegetables...too crunchy and hard and the feedback my band gives me is not always positive....and I'm always mindful of being nice to my band....

I was afraid of apples for several months post-op. But I cut them up very small and added them to my endive and bleu cheese little salad. SO GOOD!

I'm glad I overcame my fear. That said, I would never ever just chomp into an apple and try to swallow that. Yikes.

So far raw apples are okay for me if I chew carefully -- so glad as we have a small orchard and I love apples. Peanut Butter, however, terrifies me. It's one of my old outlaw foods and I'm still not ready to have it in the house. Afraid I might go wild with my itty bitty spoon. But probably not -- the day will come. I am amazed I can have cheese in the fridge and not keep going for it. I had it as part of a meal last night and did not trigger a grazing event. Major progress. I could not do that before -- it's the band. Love this thing!

I am missing apples sooooo much! I have tried them before and they didn't go down well, but I may give them a try again. What other fruits are you all able to eat??

I haven't had any issues with any fruits I have tried....grapes, apples, oranges, watermelon, cantaloupe, cherries...pretty much no fruit is off limits for me..good thing too cuz I love fruit :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
