Tracking question

Recommended Posts

I have been religiously tracking my calories with my fitness pal. It's been awesome. But how do you add something when you have no clue how to?? Like tonight, I ate my mom's sweet and sour chicken....she makes healthy adjustments for my dad so it was good for me too. But when I search for it using MFP, the only ones that come up are restaurant listings. And the calories are all over the place! So what do you guys do in a situation like this??

I don't know how MFP works, but in Lose It you can add recipes. So if I were having homemade Sweet and Sour chicken, I would enter all the ingredients and create a recipe. Lose It will then tell me how many calories, Protein, fat, etc. are in each serving. I do this a lot for dishes I cook regularly because once they're entered they're in the databse for next time.

Maybe MFP has something similar?

First of all, that is the cutest baby in your profile picture! And great your Mom is cooking healthy food for your Dad and for you. Maybe she'd be able to help you break down her recipes for your on-line tool to track your intake. Tuesdays are my day with my parents and that always puts me in a delegating mode!

You can put recipes on MFP or look for a similar one from restaurants

Thanks! That's my two year old. I have a four year old boy too....two boys are extremely tiring! That's why I go to my mom's house when hubby is away for business! I need relief!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
