Birthday Goal

Recommended Posts

I was banded 4 1/2 months ago. Since my consultation 8 months ago I have lost 52 lbs. that's great but for almost 2 months I have went up and down 5-8 lbs. I'm ready to get out of this rut and tighten up on what I need to be doing. I would love to lose 13 lbs by my birthday-1 month from today. At my current weight that really is not unrealistic. Overall I just want to be healthier and more committed to this life change and my birthday is good fuel for that.

I would appreciate any helpful advice or encouraging words to help me stay committed this next month and ultimately for life.

Thank you to anyone who will support me!!

Not really:( I was walking 2 miles, several times a week. With fall activities back in full swing for the kids (soccer, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, etc) I have let that slip, unintentionally. I know I need to do that but trying to figure out what I should do and where to fit it in the day. Any suggestions?

A friend of mine walks the field or track perimeter when she takes her kids to soccer/lacrosse/wrestling.

Losing fat is a simple formula of burning more calories than you consume. Sometimes we eat too many carbs vs. Protein which can cause us to retain fluids.

My recommendation would be to eat more Protein, fewer carbs(virtually no simple carbs). Most of all, you should try to track your calorie intake and there are many sites that help you do this? Some of us have enough restriction that it's nearly impossible to consume too many calories so we either maintain or lose weight. Do you need another fill?

Lastly, talk to your nutritionist. A good nut can help you lose up to 10 lbs in one month if you're committed.

I wake up at 5 am before work and I'm working on my PhD and I have a husband . so needless I have a very tight day. But it works best , I get a chance to start my morning energized. Also I find my body automatically waking up so that's a good thing .

Good for you! Thanks for helping motivate me and reminding me that I just have to make working out a priority.

So tonight I did Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred. I attempted to do this same workout when I was about 60 lbs heavier and almost cried doing jumping jacks during the WARM-UP. At the time it was way to much for me. Well tonight I did the whole workout and I feel great. I may not be able to walk tomorrow but I'm so proud of how far I've come and pumped to see how far I can go! So I'm going to do the 30 day Shred for my 30 day challenge. Thanks everyone for the support!!

This is great! Good for you.....29 days to go. So inspiring to hear that you are able to exercise like this now that you've dropped weight. This is one of my big goals -- I do work out now but I want it to be easier -- and it will be when I get a chunk off. Have fun and watch those curves appear -- body definition, muscle strength!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
