I have been doing the diet consulta with my PvP and have met with my surgeon already in august. They want me to lose between 20-40 lbs before surgery which is scheduled for Dec 19. I have lost 40 pounds since march but started my diet consulta in July. Lost 9 from July to august and only 4 from august to this month. So as far as what I need to lose before surgery only the 4 counts. What I was wondering is if anyone has some advice on what can help to lose more before surgery. I was thinking of trying to do a Protein Shake in the mornings and for lunch but I'm not sure what is a good one. I have done the slim fast powder mix shakes and like them but not sure on how they rate for pre-op diet. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

I'm with Sandy, Premier Protein had the highest amount of Protein 30g for lowest amount of calories and they taste pretty good and have a good texture.

My dietician says anything with more than 5 gms of sugar is out. So slim fast and Kellogg shakes are out.

Hi there -- way to go on the 40 pounds lost since March with no band yet, etc. That is a real accomplishment. Does your PCP or the WLS staff have thoughts for you -- we are all getting banded for a reason so how to get off big chunks of weight without the tool? My surgeon requires a liquid pre-op diet prior to the surgery and they provide a system called HMR800 for that -- shakes. The purpose is to shrink the liver. Good luck to you -- December 19th a banner day!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
