Feeling like a carnivore.....

Recommended Posts

but still not losing. I know it has been only 6 weeks. I have not lost anything. I am playing golf(no cart)and walking. I am eating between 800-1100 calories. I know I sound whiny. I was hoping to see atleast a couple of pounds off by now. I have a bad knee and do not know what else I can do. I am careful to get my Protein in, ie. carnivore, and get very little else in. I am really hoping to see some movement at my next fill. Not moving makes me feel like I am failing. Sorry for the vent, but sometimes I have to. I don't want to vent to family/friends all the time because they ask me how much I have lost. Well, thanks for listening.

Hi!

I know it's frustrating. Did you lose alot of weight prior to the surgery. The only thing that comes to mind is that you hit a plateau and with the added stress of the surgery it's just extended. Really frustrating when you do it all right but the results are not there.

Do you measure yourself. You'll be amazed sometimes how much your body is changing even though the scale is not moving :)

You must be so frustrated. You're doing everything right, so all you can do is keep doing what you're doing. I'm 8 weeks post-op and was in a similar situation with weight not moving for a few weeks and the added stress of people asking how much I've lost. Then, all of a sudden, I woke up one morning and I had magically lost 4 pounds. It was the best moment of the journey so far! Hopefully that will happen to you any day now. You're not failing. You are establishing healthy habits and routines - nice job!

I think the body really needs to adjust -- first to the pre-op diet then recovering from surgery and now this whole new way of eating. it's like it to believe it is okay to start dropping and then boy oh boy will you start to lose. Hang on! Good for you on the golf and doing what you can -- you have made his big step and it is all happening. Wait til Christmas -- you're not going to believe what you've accomplished!

You are not failing if you are doing all the right things. Sounds like you are so don't stress it. I have bad joints as well. Can you join a gym or Y with a pool? I swim and that works great for me. Also..tell your family to stop asking how much weight you lost. Their queries do not help even if they mean well.

I know you said you are counting calories, but do you notice that you are eating heavy on carbs? I have found truth in that my low carb days really show on the scale.< /p>

Also sodium is a huge culprit of bloating.

Good luck!

I too lost 12 lbs the first two weeks and then nothing for the next 3.5 months. It was disappointing of course because we wait so long to get this rocket off the pad only to have to wait on a fill or multiple fills in my case. Be patient, try to keep eating healthy and eventually you'll see the lbs melting away.

Thanks guys! I needed this encouragement today! I am going to measure tomorrow. Maybe I can see something moving over the next few weeks. That was a great idea. I am thankful to have everyone's experiences to draw on.

MC.....remember you're body needs to adjust to the new way of eating new way of feeling and making sure you're not starving your body. It's very protective of itself.

Up your exercise and mix up your foods like what you eat when you eat it, etc.

Hope that helos some. GOD BLESS...STAY STRONG.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
