Surgery went good. Did have a hiatal hernia repair so I am pretty sore. Clear fluids till Monday and then full liquids. So glad I stayed one night in the hospital because that hernia repair really hurts. Shoulder/ chest gas pain is somewhat better. Trying to walk so I can get it all out!

Wow, so far so good for our group!! I wish some of the banders from the beginning of the month would check in too! How are they all doing?

Amy, I know just where that is in MO. What time is your surgery? I have to wait til 12:30pm to check in! I kinda wish I could use that extra time to go into work, but I know after surgery prep and no food after midnight that I probably couldn't keep up.

I have to be at the hospital by 6:30 Monday morning so I had better be the first surgery. I am always starving in the mornings so I have been sleeping in until 10. They better have me down for the first surgery or they are going to have a very hungry cranky woman to deal with.

Congrats on an easy surgery-I had similar results-it was sooo much better than anticipated-I am 9 days out!

Read your blog and you said you used a Protein Powder that dissolves in crystal light. I'm looking for more Protein, what did you use?

Wishing you continued success!

2nd day out from surgery and the numbness in my torso is more gone now but still doing ok. The cut in my belly button is still bleeding a bit and the steri strip is gross. luckily i have 2 sisters that are nurses and one is going to come over today and clean and redress it.

My biggest problem on the Clear Liquids is not getting enough Protein and drinking enough water...still working on that. Tomorrow I can start having yogurt and cottage cheese and my protein shakes...never thought I'd be happy about that - but it's more solid food than today so yay me! I will take it!

Congrats to everyone that just got banded. My surgery was on 9/13. I'm on day 15 (mushy) diet. I'm doing pretty good - I've lost 18 pounds. My hardest things are not eating & drinking and I've gotten myself on a schedule to avoid it. Sometimes chicken or tuna can be dry and that's not good, but that's only happened to me 2 times. It just feels like it's hard going down.

All and all I'm doing very well - adjusting and trying my best to stay on track. I have a husband and kids that I have to feed and it's been a little hard cooking for them, but I try to have some easy meals for me so I can prepare mine with theirs.

I'm happy for everyone - it seems all of you are doing so well!

I was banded on the 13th. Down 18 pounds and loving it!

I had a minor issue with my incisions, but started an antibiotic a few days ago...much better now.

Eating slow has been a task. I'm using the Eating Slow app on my phone and seems to be doing the trick.

I go in for my first fill on the 9th :)

Hope everybody is doing well!!

HI Everyone! I'm 12 day's post-op. In my first week (of three) of "mushies". My port area still get's a little sore with a lot of movement but for the most part, I feel great. It (my port incision) is also right in my "fat fold" and where my pants seem to rest when sitting so that irritates it a bit but it's healing nicely.

I got some good news earlier this week when I saw my endocrinologist. He was so happy with my numbers and weight loss and that I had surgery that he took me off my diabetes meds!!! Woo hoo!!!

Having a bit of a hard time with the mushie stage. It's true that we eat with our eyes first and I will say that pureed turkey taco's looked NASTY -- despite tasting great. LOL. Anyway, I still find myself wanting something "tangible" but I'll get there in time. I have some pretty good restriction (likely from still being swollen) and am doing pretty good.

Glad to see everyone else is doing well, too. It's been a while since I read up on this thread and I thought I'd check in!

My port area seems to be on my fat roll too but I haven't been in anything but yoga pants and maxi dresses so I've been ok lol.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
