Hey everyone! Just thought I would introduce myself. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone who is active daily on this site because you all give such great advice and are an inspiration! I attended the seminar in early April after my PCP brought up lapband around 1 year prior. Since then I decided that this is the best choice for me to take charge of my health. For knowledge and insight I have been reading the forums on here daily. I am (almost) 25 years old and in the process of doing my insurance required weigh-ins at my surgeon's office. I currently weigh 205 and am about 5'3.5. So I am considered a "low bmi" bander. I cannot lose weight during this 6 month required weigh-in phase so that is a little annoying...well I could lose weight but insurance would not cover the cost :( So for now I have been doing lifestyle changes to get me ready for surgery. I struggle with P.C.O.S. and that was a determining factor for me wanting to lose the weight and begin a new life (I cant wait to have babies!). My surgeon's office is thinking I will have surgery late Sept early Oct depending on how fast insurance approval happens and what not. I am excited to get this journey going and become a more healthy me! Anyways, enough with my long rant, thanks for reading!

Hi,

I was a low bmi bander, too. Actually, I had to gain weight to reach 36 (above 35), and I purposefully gained 10 pounds over last Xmas, which was not very difficult :)

During my pre-op screening they found out that I had sleep apnoe, this is how I could qualify for the surgery, otherwise insurance would not have not covered it. It is worth the wait!! Just be patient. You can start exercising, and adjusting to healthier eating, and counting calories et cetera. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
