17 years old. School coming up.... :0

Recommended Posts

Well since I am sill in high school and I havent really seen many of my friends this summer because I have been solely focusing on myself. I was wondering from experience if any of yall had people tell a difference in your body? The last day of school I was at my heaviest and now I am 38lbs down. And school doesnt start for another month, I am 2 weeks post op, and really hoping that I can somewhat transform before school. YES yes I know it matters on the lifestyle change but this still is important to me...?!

Thanks xo Chloe

Hi Chloe. Sure...we've all had people able to tell there's a difference in our appearances if we've lost weight. There's no way someone can't notice especially if the weight loss is significant. I can tell you that 38 lbs. is pretty significant and your classmates and teachers will surely notice. I suspect you have already started your transformation and as you say, you still have another month. Congrats on your success so far and good luck with the rest or your weight loss journey.

Great job. Even though you don't feel it you probably look it. But don't worry about the outside as long as the inside is positive. You look to be a beautiful & smart young lady & if people can't see that, that's their loss. You start school thinking about how much fun your going to have, think positive and good things will come. Keep up the good work.

You gotta keep in mind that you wake up to see yourself in the mirror every day, which means it's very hard to tell a difference until much latr on. I'm at 61 lbs lost so far and still can't tell too much, but others sure do.

Also, while many of us delay buying new clothes. It really is easier to see the weight loss when wearing the correct size. While I don't suggest buying much, you might want to buy some things a few days before school starts that fits you properly. Try your hardest to buy things you like too as that will give you confidence which also will help your appearance.

Best of luck in school!

People will most likely see it as a loss is a loss. I didn't really buy many new, correct fitting clothes through most of my journey so it was harder for people to tell. Now that I wear the right size clothing and even though I've been around the same weight for months, people i see almost every day do come up and compliment me.

Sometimes people also notice but dont say anything because weight can be a sensitive topic.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
