  1. So not that I am going anywhere right now, but in the future when I do intend on traveling. I have heard that people with bands, have a hard time on plane rides, like they feel as if there band tightens. Anybody know anything about this or have experience? Thanks! -Chloe

  6. 78 days post-op. yet I still can't even believe that I had the surgery. Doesn't feel real. I have so much going on, but this decision is always on my mind. I am doing well, but I can't help but think about my life without this surgery and what it might be like now. I am almost down 50+ pounds and am really overwhelmed, and excited! I am so blessed to have a family that supports me, but I wish I could just support myself. I feel like every time I get excited about something, the next thing to happen is either bad news, or saddening. -Chloe

  11. So yesterday was my 2 month officially of having a lap band... It is so crazy to think about, and reality is, I never truly think I was aware of the huge change that I would go through. Theres been great times, and horrible, disheartening times. But I am almost at -50lbs. down, which is so promising. Not to mention I have SOOO manyyy full shopping carts, that I believe I've deserved maybe, hopefully.?! Thanks -Chloe

  13. So I am nearing almost 50lbs. of weight loss and I am so overjoyed!! But completely overflowed with other emotions and road blocks that I find it hard to focus on the most important and great new lifestyle. Im not saying I can't handle it, but I do feel like my happiness is dulled by so many other things.... Ugh Thanks-Chloe
  14. Well, since I am only in high school, and I do participate in varsity sports, Im running into some trouble during practices. We have 2 hour practices everyday but I am having trouble staying hydrated during practice since I only have around 3-4 water breaks (not to mention we are outside in the boiling heat) so not sure how to approach. Because when I do have water-breaks I want to chug as much as I can but obviously I cannot like I used to. Thanks, Chloe
  15. I am scared, nervous, and a little excited, so many emotions. I got my first fill yesterday, and my Dr. was proud of me so far, so that definitely made me feel good. For some reason though I feel embarrassed to talk to my parents, about how I feel a form of vulnerability within myself, like I shouldn't get to excited about things, because usually that is dulled by something bad happening or a rain cloud, or my parents might get upset at me. Not sure.... Thanks -Chloe

  17. Sooooo, don't read this if you are in happy mood, Id hate to put a dapper on your parade but...I feel horrible, I have my first fill this Friday, and I am freaking out!! I feel so nasty, like I should be embarrassed for having to HAVE to get a band, Im just feeling a little ashamed, and Im so nervous for the fill cause I really don't want it to be so crazy tight because my Dr. live about 4 hours away so appointments are hard... yeah Thanks, Chloe
  18. So I have somewhat hit a plateu in my rapid weight loss, which I totally understand! I've been eating right, and getting ready for back to school. But inside I feel like me becoming healthier and thinner, has brought up so many untouched emotions, things that I've never felt before, and to make it even tougher I feel as if Im alone...My parents and family are SO supportive and I love them for that, but its almost as if I'm embarrassed in front of them, I wish my problems weren't so intruding in their lives. :/ Any calming techniques, or wise quotes Thanks, Chloe!
  19. So I am now around 4 weeks post op, and for a little while I had a plateu and my weight was staying the same, I have been eating right, being active, going slow, and when I stepped on the scale today I had gained 4 lbs!! Im so confused and upset.... Thanks Chloe

  21. Sooooo this Summer I have been totally focusing on myself, and making a better lifestyle for myself. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op, and since school is coming up rapidly I need to go shopping for some new clothes, Ive lost around 40 lbs so far, but I def. know that I will loose more, or at least I hope I continue to. So if I am continously shrinking I don't want to spend a ton of money on clothes.. I mean it's already been the most money dwelling Summer ever with a 20,000$ surgery sooo yeah any ideas???...thanks Chloe
  22. Im just nearing 3 weeks post op, and I am feeling like I did not make the right decision in getting the lap band, I have had so much trouble the past few days keeping down anything, and I feel so melancholy afterwards, like I will always be throwing up or not being able to breathe after I take to big of a sip/bite. But this CANT happen Im 17 and still in high school, I don't want to have to leave class because I need to burp and let my food digest. I know I know this is the way it goes sometimes, but I just FEEL this way. Feelings cant be right or wrong, so please don't be an a*****e please and thank you..

  24. I hit a loss of 40 lbs today and I am 3 weeks post-op, I feel okay still a little burpy/gassy. I still have to burp a lot after I drink things as well. Yeah sooo now Im just waiting for more weight to fall off hopefully it will, combined with eating right. Chloe
  25. I have this awful feeling as though I should not have gotten the LapBand, like I couldve done it on my own, or it was too big of a step at my age (17). Yes, I know the band is just a tool, and I totally understand the concept, and I promise I have tried everything under the sun before this I mean you name it Ive def. tried it. So besides weight loss and the emotions and confidence that come with any weight loss what does the LapBand help with. Please don't be rude, or I will get pissed and be rude back Chloe
  26. Okay so I am three weeks post op and my tape and surgical "band-aids" are starting to become really loose and fall off. Im nervous and I can even see the open wounds, its freaking me out and grossing me out. I know this is normal but the wounds and the scarring, how do I minimize it? I go in the ocean a lot so Im in salt water...!? Thanks xo Chloe
