After lapband, how many people really saw a increase in energy??

Recommended Posts

I mean how ever much you weighed, when you lost your first 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, ect.. Could you actually get up of the couch and do more things then you could when u were heavy, I have a lot of back trouble and I've been feeling kind of lazy and some people even say when you loose 50 lbs that's 50 lbs ur carrying around with you anymore (imagine if u put a backpack on with 50lbs inside of it) it would make things a lot harder for you to do with that extra weight.... I don't know lol, I'm Just feeling very held down and I'm hoping after weight loss when im in that size 6 I will be able to feel like I will be able to do a lot more without being so tired and constricted. I'm only 26, and most of the weight came from having kids and just eating and eating I've done all kinds of yoyo dieting and weight loss crap and nothing I mean nothing works and I've heard and saw so many success stories I knew that lapband would be perfect for me! I have all my clearances already done and go time is sept 16 I wish it was tomorrow but all good things come to those who wait! :) thanks all for your input! Have a blessed day!

I definitely have more energy. I'm a bit anaemic so struggle for energy at the best of times, but now I'm happy to walk for ages where before the idea of getting off the couch was usually beyond what I felt capable of.

Though having said that I forced myself to exercise from the beginning and I think that also contributed greatly to increased energy levels. I just got fitter in general.

Right now you just can't imagine what it will be like when you lose the weight. Believe me, you will feel like a different person in that regard. I'm suffering from severe arthritis and because I am in so much pain, it's hard for me to exercise and move around but having said that, even I can see a difference. I've dropped 70 lbs. and can walk more, I swim now, and yes, getting off the couch is easier. Lots of people say their aches and pains have gone away so you should be able to look forward to that as well. Oh and by the way, you'll be better way before you hit that size 6. Even a few pounds will make a difference.

I was banded in Aug of last year. I have lost 56 lbs. the difference is amazing. I have so much more energy. Before all I wanted to do was sit and watch tv. I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything. Now I want to go, go, go. My knees don't hurt and my back doesn't hurt any more from walking around. I don't wake up in the middle of the night with back aches. It was the best thing I have done for myself. My family physician has just taken me of my metformin and Lipitor.

I'm down 34 pounds, and I'm already like a different person. Before, if I needed something that was upstairs, many times I would just pass on going to get it; too much effort. Now, I'm up & down the stairs with much greater ease, and don't feel like I'm going to have a heart attack when I get to the top. I walk a lot more, for longer periods, and I'm so much better in every way.

We just got back from Las Vegas, and we walked non-stop. Aside from that, it's like a gazillion degrees there right now. Four months ago, I would never have pulled this off the way that I did.

I was banded in January of this year, it definitely took a couple of months, but my energy levels are so much higher than before. Even though I'm still really big, I'm doing my first 5k this month, I now ride my bike to work (13 miles round trip), I actually play with my 5 year old daughter. I got a Trail-a- bike from a garage sale and my daughter and I just did a 42 mile trek last Saturday.

What had really helped was I got a cheap gym membership right after surgery because I was too embarrassed to walk outside in my neighborhood. I would walk about an hour (slowly) a day while recovering, then later started varying my routine with circuit training, cycling, and elliptical.

My whole body used to hurt, I had really bad lower back and hip pain, as well as excruciating foot pain and swelling all throughout my lower legs/ankles/feet. Glad to say that's all gone now. I am sure a lot of it is from the weight loss, but I think it's mostly from exercise.

I have not had my surgery yet, however I have lost 180 pounds started at 421, now 240, I feel like a new woman! I am getting banded so I can complete my weight loss and to help me keep it off. I went to the zoo with my friend a few weeks back, the last time I was there I could only walk 15 feet and than I had to sit down. I spent 7 hours running all over the zoo, never sat down once! OMG it's like a new life. Getting banded because I just want it all! I went from a 7X to 14's and 16's but I just want to lose more. 3 years ago I had to have a home health worker I was in such bad shape, now I work out at the gym every single day. ,Life is good at 58!

Omg! I could have written this!!! I suffer with back pain because of my weight and struggle with energy levels and keeping up with my kids. I need to lose half of my body weight (yikes!!) and when I think about how much better I will feel at that weight, I always imagine a thin me carrying another me around all day. No wonder my back hurts and I feel tired!!!! I'm 4 days into pre-op and getting banded on August 5th. Can't wait!!!

When I was fat I could not carry groceries into the house without fatigued and short of breath....I was the one everyone had to stop and wait for while I stopped to rest.....at the gym I was lucky if I could do 15 minutes on the elliptical....

Now, I have more energy as I ever did....

I helped a friend move into his new house a few weeks back....everyone, 1/2 my age kept stopping to rest...I put them all to shame...

At the gym, I am now "One of those people" who probably was never fat a day in their life and has always been athletic...yea, it's easy for them....If they only knew.

I go to the gym 5 days a week, at 5:30am....BEFORE a 8-10 hour day at work, on my feet seeing patients all day in clinic....

I run at least 5 miles, do weights and core strengthening 2-3 times a week....and "Boot Camp" classes on Monday Mornings at 5am....

I am 61 years old, and without giving my FULL Medical history, I will say I did have one Heart Attack that resulted in Cardiac Surgery...all before lap band surgery and all weight related.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
