united healthcare

Recommended Posts

I am in California and have United Healthcare insurance through work. I believe I called and asked them if they cover any WLS an they said no. The Dr I have my consultation with this week said they take that insurance and most patients are covered. Does anyone else have united health and was covered? Or has anyone been told they aren't covered but when the dr submitted the info they were covered?

I have United Healthcare thru my work and I am covered at 90%. I never called them myself, I had my Doc do it all. They did have requirements that I had to do. Good luck!

I have UHC through my husband and I am covered. However, there were requirements to fulfill like 6 months of supervised visits, psyche evaluation, nutritionist. I'm waiting on my approval any day now.....

It not only depends on what insurer, but your company may have their own agreement with uhc. Ask for a copy of your SPD ( summary plan description ) and you ll have your plan specific info.

How long did it take

It was submitted on Monday and approved by Wednesday. I Had my surgery 2 weeks later!

The whole process took 6 months because of the 6 months nutritional counseling. If you need to do that.. UTILiZE IT! I was so mentally prepared once i got banded and I believe that is the reason for my fast success!

I have United Healthcare too through my job. My hubby is unemployed and needs Lab Band or Gastric desperately and he was denied..I HATE UNITED HEALTHCARE. Has anybody ever gotten it through a "medical tourism" service?? I just don't know where else to turn

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
