relief when you do mess up!!??

Recommended Posts

I recently got my first fill....I had no restriction when I got my band, now I do. I have 'messed up" few times already. Eating too fast, too big of bites, drinking with food, and tried fried food. Yes, I DO know that all of these things are NO NO's...but my question is....if you do mess up, what can you do for relief? The PAIN of being stuck is unbearable!! I swear I have had moments in the past few days hat I just wished I could/would die!! Along those same lines.....how do you know if you have slippage? I just hope that I haven't messed anything up!! This is SO much harder then I thought it would be!!

Im sure my answer will be met with strict criticism (as it should be cuz after 2 1/2 yrs of doing so caused my band to slip): the only thing I've found to relieve the pain of being stuck is to somehow bring the food back up (fi ger, toothbrush, etc).

Now that's not permission to go willy nilly and vomit frequently. As I said, after 2 1/2 yrs of vomiting 3-5x a wk, my band slipped. Im soon to be revising to a sleeve cuz I ruined my band.

Maybe I shouldn't have even answered, but I thought it might help in knowing how it does cause damage long term. I never found anything to relieve that stuck feeling. I would break out in a sweat, start shaking, and would HAVE to bring it back up. Never thought of actually preventing being stuck in the first place. That's actually the best way to relieve it. Avoid it

Good luck

Marci

There won't b any criticism from me :). And every once in a while I have to let it rip too,,, but I don't ever throw up food, ,only slime. And that is instant relief. I can go for weeks and do great,,then I screw up and eat too fast or too much and there I go,,, I'm about 6 months post op,,have lost 71 lbs and still learning. I try but sometimes screw up :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
