I had the liquid diet as well. It was pure hell! :(

The first week was horrible. I kind of adapted after that a bit. Ate tons of Jello (this was the only solid I was allowed) and drank gallons of crystal light. Also slept a lot to help pass time.

It's worth it though. You'll be glad when you wake up from surgery knowing you did everything you could do to make things a success.

Welcome! :) pre-op diets are tough but VERY worth it! Sounds like you are doing great! Post often with any questions that you might have. I won't be able to answer any but the vets on here can ;)

Hi. Good luck. I'm 1 week post op and still an emotional roller coaster but I'm already seeing results which makes it all worth it. Like any change, we need to be patient and give ourselves time to adjust.

Thank you everyone SO much for the support! I can't tell you how much it helps. Woke up this morning to my fiance singing a rocking rendition to "Living on a Prayer" with the specific lyrics of "ohhhh you're halfway there, ohhhh living on a prayer"...he's notorious for adapting songs. It was hilarious. I've always been super independent, so asking for support is difficult for me, but I know it's what's necessary! I got on the scale this morning and after one week of this liquid deal I've lost 10 lbs.! I'm so deeply inspired by everyone's courage. Thank you!!!!!

The liquid diet can be crazy, but it's worth it. I had a lot of jell-o and Crystal light. I walked as much as my body would let me, slept when I could, and picked up crafts when I needed to keep myself busy. I love to knit, so I got a lot done on those projects during my liquid diet phase.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
