Did anyone NOT have to do the preop diet?

Recommended Posts

I had a 1 week period diet. 2 shakes and 1 meal a day. I did cheat a few times though......you know "my last meal" about 5 times like. Thankfully all went well though

Me? I was serious during the post op diet. I was a wee bit crazy though, I made melon and cucumber Water, even made a concoction out of pickle juice. I would crush Popsicles and then eat them like a snow cone. I would freeze my Protein drinks and made shaved ice treats out of them too.

Ok now i'm confused. In one post you said you did not do one and in another you said you did and went a wee bit crazy. lol. am i missing something?

Didn't have a required pre op diet. Guessy doctor didn't feel my liver size would be an issue. I was seeing a nutritionist for 3 months prior and we were working on changing my habits before sugery so it wasn't too much of a shock. I lost 7 pounds prior. I just had to have the typical liquid 24 hrs prior to sugery.

That hasn't been mentioned to me at all. My preop appointment is on the 12th and my surgery is on the 17th of this month.

Regardless of the liver effect I appreciated the pre-op diet since it helped me prepare for the much tougher post-op diet.

I didn't have a pre-op diet, my Dr said that since my BMI was under 40 in the beginning, a pre-op diet wasn't required, but recommended to eat high Protein, which I usually did anyway. My pre op BMI was 32

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
