Road Trip: Low carb, high protein, low fat snacks?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have suggestions for Snacks to take on a road trip (about 10 hours) that are low carb, high Protein, and low fat? I was thinking almonds, but I doubt I could control myself that well (love them :)) and probably will not take these and they are high in fat.

If you're keeping a cooler in the car, string cheese is good. And jerky....which is one of our favorite road trip Snacks.< /p>

Deli meats travel well in a cooler. I too like Jerky and string cheese.< /p>

On road trips, I take a little cooler with Protein Shakes and fat free cheese. I'm not much of a snacker, so road trips are a challenge for me. I mostly do shakes to keep my energy up for driving. We often make a 10-hour drive to our home state, and my 21-year-old son is really good at watching over me and reminding me to eat when I need to. (Whose the parent?)

I travel a lot for work so I carry a cooler every day. I bring Mix1 chocolate Protein Shakes (90 calories, 9 grams protein), Isopure Zero Carb shakes (60 calories, 15 grams of protein),Greek Yogurt, lowfat string cheese or lowfat sharp cheddar sticks from Sargento Cheese, Doctor Kracker Crisp Breads/ Crackers (100 calories, 5 grams of protein) and even hard cooked eggs.< /p>

Have a good trip!

Low fat cheese sticks and Jerky are great road trip foods. You can buy these at most convenience stores, along with those precooked hard boiled eggs. If you area eating out, look for the healthy options. Chickfila has a grilled nugget kids meal that is perfect for banders.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
