I saw an old picture yesterday....

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 4/3/12. My largest weight was 291. Today, I weigh 227 for a total lost of 64 pounds. One of my coworkers told me last week "you look like a different person". I didn't think my looks change that much. I personally didn't see a big change. Well, yesterday that coworker bought in an old picture of me from our work picnic from 6/2011. I didn't take many photos of me back then so I don't have a lot for comparison. OMG, I was in total SHOCK!!!!! I looked like a totally different person. I really needed to see that. That really encouraged me. I don't ever ever ever what to be that size again. I am soooo happy with my decision to have the Lap band. It does work. You just gotta work the tool!!!!!

I agree! My daughter was talking to a friend about the surgery (she was recently banded in February as well) and they were concerned it wouldn't work. She found an old picture of me (I was hard to photograph pre-surgery as well) and showed them before and afters. They didn't believe I was the same person. She showed me the picture and it was a confidence boost as to how far I've come. Congrats to you on your weight loss and good luck!!!

My mind still thinks I look like the same person. When someone says. "wow...you look like you have lost alot of weight". My stock response is.."Oh yes I have been working hard...thank you for noticing." There response back is always..."how could you not notice"?

It makes me appreciate where I have come from also.

Congrats on your transformation!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
