Sooooooo....... I went to the Doctor yesterday.............

Sooooooo....... I went to the Doctor yesterday.............for my two week post op check up........and.......

I LOST 20 lbs. 10 pounds a week. I feel great. No real downs, only ups.

Some observations from the past two weeks.

Wardrobe - For those who are starting their weight loss journey, I cannot stress the importance of an accessory you will need in the recent future. Belts! Yes belts. If you have a body type like mine, Scottish no ass syndrome, then a belt is a necessary evil. Why? Well the world around us is not as understanding as it once was. I was in Wal-Mart last week walking through the home goods section and almost lost my pants. Fortunately for me no one was around. Learn from my mistakes. I can only imagine what would have happened if this wardrobe malfunction happened in the toy isle.

Bathrooms - When venturing out into the world, be sure to know where the closest bathroom is. I have become a public bathroom aficionado. Lowes, Home Depot and Wal-Mart surprisingly have clean bathrooms. Be aware that your public bathroom fears need to be put aside. Another important point. The safety paper seat covers are more of a pain than not. Particularly since it can get caught up in your pants and tell the world where you have been. Thank God for wives.

chicken - This is the evil bird of the food world. So I went to soft food on Tuesday. Got some chicken, grilled it on the BBQ, then chopped it up and placed it in the crockpot to slow cook over the next 8 hours. My wife was so happy to see dinner ready when she came home even though I was at work. Called me to tell me how good it smelled in the house and how good it tasted. So i was looking forward to having some when I got home. Came home and started to eat. Chew, chew, and chew, so I thought. This evil bird created a food bolus that ultimately came back up with vengeance. Felt like a cat with a hairball. Not pretty.

That's all I got for now, more to come.

Enjoy your day!

One word: "Chicken thighs" and stay away from the crockpot, if you want them slow cooked, look up something called sous vide.

2 week post op and chicken, put it in a blender with a bit of gravey or greek yog. or fat free mayo and make it like a chicke salad. It is the consistancy of Peanut Butter but yummy and full of Protein.< /p>

There are times when I can eat chicken and times when I can't. I do a lot of baking chicken on a broiler pan in the oven. I buy FRESH chicken- my fav is the perdue perfect portions. I coat it with a little EVOO and some seasoning and bake. Always tender and tasty. I cut it in SMALL bites and chew it well and normally don't have a problem with it that way. If I want BBQ chick I use the boneless skinless chicken thighs and baste it before putting it on the grill with some vinager based BBQ Sauce. The also comes out very tender.

Your pants story made me think of my first Christmas (2010) with my new inlaws. We were visiting my husband parents (granted this was the first time I had ever met them) and I was wearing a skirt that was too big. I put a belt on it, however the skirt didn't have belt loops, so it was draped over the skirt.

Apparently, when I used the bathroom, I neglected to tighten the belt enuf over the skirt. As I was standing in the living room in front of the Christmas tree, my skirt was on the floor. Thank God I had tights on! No one even noticed. There must've been 10 people in the room, busy in their conversations with each other. My husband is the one who noticed it first, even before me.

That skirt went to another bander. Size 14. I was in a 14 for about 5 minutes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
