January 2013 Bandsters Unite

Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU!

For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES!

Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal.

Success in 2013 to each of you.

:-)

My port I believe is right under my left boob. I have 7 incisions because I got lap-band with plication. I'm still in a lot of pain and I've been taking a few shallow breaths. I do constant walking and small sips of Gatorade as per my doctor. My mom was nice enough to give me a message which elevated some of the pain in my neck. I'm tired but today was better than yesterday and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Thia may be a dumb question, but im going to ask anyway how do yall no where your port it

I only have 3 holes. And I know where my port is cause it hurts more then the others and I can feel the bump.

Hi just had surgery yesterday and suffering today i have a high pain threshold normally!! It's the trapped wind all round my neck and shoulders really hurting me and got tightness across my chest its not nice didn't sleep much at all! Know its to be expected but liquid paracetamol is not cutting it is there anything else I can have? He said I'd have bit more pain as he repaired a hernia I had no idea I had! I've got 10ml band and he put in 1 ml in x

@budds trust me it gets better as the days go by trust me I was just banded on the 21st and I feel great today.

Same! I was banded on the 22nd and feel the best yet. The only problem is that i was feeling so good that I forgot some rules and drank some gatorade wayyyyyyyyyy to fast and maybe too much at one time.

The feeling is not fun at all. Hurts baaaaaad. I need to remember little sips and space the sips out every 15 minutes or so.

Going for a walk to try and move some of this liquid from my baby tummy to my mama tummy.

I'm going in on Monday at 730 I'm so nervous any words of advice??

Nervousness is totally normal! My personal advice is to get everything done before the surgery as possible and set yourself up with your water, Gatorade, Popsicles, etc. the first few days are tough but keep your eye on the prize! It gets better and is an amazing tool for long term weight loss. Keep on this forum as it really helps with little questions you may have, motivation and support. The final word of advice...follow your doctors orders to a T. Don't rush your healing month as it is sooo important to set the foundation for your future with the band. Good luck tomorrow. We r all pulling for you.

January Bandsters Unite!

Thank you so much! I can't wait to be banded! A new life a new journey!!

I had mine January 24, 2013. Goodluck everyone!!!

I just had my first "stuck". I will not do that again. I've never had anything hurt so bad. Chew. Chew. Chew.

Thanks hope so I can feel the port and it hurts to cough or anything apparently that could be due to having the hernia fixed too struggling to sleep as I can't sleep on my back fingers crossed this goes soon!

Oh R-Sheryl....that has me so worried...getting 'stuck' and throwing up. I'm not even sure that I want any fills because of that. I know...then it's just another diet..but avoiding getting stuck is quite a deterrent in my opinion.

I couldn't sleep on my back either. I tried sleeping sitting up in my bed with a heating pad on my shoulder. I never really would fall asleep, then I would go and sit in my lazyboy. I was able to sleep a couple hours there. I couldn't really sleep in my bed until I was a week post op. Try a heating pad for the shoulder and neck pain. It helped me. I had my hernia repaired also, and my shoulder and neck pain was real bad. I had it constantly for about 10 days. I'm 16 days post op and I still get pain there every now and again. It does get better though. Good luck with your journey :)
