Hi All

I have been at this since 12/2005..... and have regained all my weight. So in 2013 I plan to restart again

I will make an appt to my Doc for a fill. Have not been back for over a year....

I need to work on a menu so would like to hear from those that are doing well what is your typical menu for the day like?

Joe

Breakfast: Egg beater omelette w/turkey sausage and a sprinkle of cheese

Snack: apple/cutie oranges

lunch: leftovers, usually salmon, chicken. Sometimes I'll have deli turkey on oroweat sandwich thins.

snack: 1.25 oz of jerky(costco)

dinner: last night, salmon on salad. Or stir fry veggies with chicken

I just try to keep the fats down and get my Protein in first. I usually stay away from carbs as much as possible. Not entirely of course, but I keep it down. I always did well on the Atkins and South Beach diets.

The biggest thing is Portion Control. You may be hungry at first but it will subside. Follow the exact pre-op diet they give you to get a nice 10 lbs or so jump off! After just eat lean meat the size if your palm and cut out sauces, dressings, dips , and carbs!

Try the smart ones Desserts in the frozen section. The strawberry shortcake is the best! Perfect Portion Control. I also use my choc Protein Powder and some PB2 ( powdered pb) and mix it with milk in a blender. It's like Peanut Butter m&ms !!!!!!!

Tara is right. The foods that don't allow your band to do it's job need to be thrown out and definitely don't buy more. I know how easy it is to eat lots of slider foods but come 2013, don't do it.

Do it now Joe! When I was on Weight Watchers, it obviously didn't work, but I lost 7 lbs over Xmas! I guess I was just really eating cautiously.

Hey! There is always a fresh start! sorry to hear about you losing your way, I hope you find the support you need to keep you on your lifelong journey for good! I to like 2much.. I love chicken stir fry.. I can eat that lunch and dinner and it gives you the Protein you need and not many calories.. I do very well with that.

Throw in a pot, I sautee a lil smart balance butter with green beans/mushrooms/ bean sprouts/ unions/and broccoli.. and throw in the cooked chicken breast and walaaa! I make a big pot so I have left overs.. helps to not have to worry about what to make for a few days. :)

Hi Joe and welcome back!

The best advice I can offer is to count calories. Not only does it hold you accountable to what you put in your mouth, but it also makes adjusting your diet when you do run into issues a lot easier.

I would even make an appointment with a nutritionist, let them help you establish food and calorie guidelines that you can live with.

Best wishes to you. You can do this!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
