What size band do you have?

  • Author

Yes, band was checked and in place....It just was too swollen to let anything pass through it. So I took a round of steroids and I' now on my 4th bag of fluid. I just don't know if the pressure I feel is right or if its goofing into stomach now. Mire ally scared cause I don't want 2 more surgeries. I am not nauseaed just feel everything sits on sternum and it hurts like the devil. When you are eating or drinking and you get the full feeling. Where do you feel it? In belly or enforce of sternum?

Are you currently dealing with your own surgeon or an emergency room / hospital doctor? Sometimes there is Fluid in your band from surgery, have they checked that and taken it out? 2 more surgeries would be terrible, however, you do have to take care of yourself and your health.

good luck.

They have. Taken all Fluid out. Just thinking the area was swollen shut. I'm being discharged now. But I'm worried ill come right back.

u have to go real slow...start with very thin liquids, I had coconut water only for many days...then clear soup...then thin milkshakes..

.

When I'm stuck I feel it in my sternum like a knife jab!!!

Have they said why they think your so swollen? Are you allergic to the stitches or something?

Thats so terrible I hope things start to get better soon keep us updated

Hi. All of U ole timers, have U tried gummy vitamins ?

Hi. All of U ole timers, have U tried gummy Vitamins ?

my dr preferred me not to take gummies (said something about clogging or blocking) but i am sure all dr's and people are different. i stick with chewables or liquid

Gummies only have a fraction of the Vitamins that chewables do. Just be aware of that. :)

Becky/26yrsold/Idaho. Band Date Nov. 5. 248/goal 165.

Gummies are okay as long as you chew them completely. But like Nevara said they are far from complete, yet better than nothing.

hi laurendevins, sorry about your bad experience, not a good way to start off this journey, seems like its doesnt take much to make it swollen and once its pissed off, its takes a while for it to be your friend again, and the more madder it is, the longer it takes, lol I was on liquids for almost a week after a stuck episode, throwing up blood and an ER visit. I learned a lot that week #1 Laying down will not make anything go away #2 When eating if I ever EVER feel the slightest discomfort STOP!

I hope things get better for you, it is a very sucky way to start off, and that pressure pain is breathtaking, I have been there and for a breif moment I think if I could have taken it out myself I would have. lol

Was the band prefilled cuz sometimes they are i could not keep anything down a weak after surgery.Turned out it already was prefilled once dr unfilled i was ok.But go slow with everything.
