  1. I have one tablet that is so nasty & I have to crush it. It's huge. I'm mixing sf jello a little cottage cheese & cool whip. I mix it with the med & get it down that way.
  2. Hi. I was banded on the 18th as well. I'm doing good. Have a little problem with food getting stuck. Had my first post-op visit yesterday. Drank barium, could see the restriction through the band nice & tight. No fill yet and I've lost 20+ lbs. my fitness pal is the same annaben62. Congrats to everyone banded in December & happy new year & new life!
  3. Just got out of surgery doing well. Beginning to have gas pain in my chest. Able to drink. No nausea. Should being going home soon.
  4. Hi all. I'm at plaza surgery center Jax Fl. Waiting to go back to the OR Wish me luck. And good luck to all my fellow 12/18/12 bandsters.
  5. I hope all when well for those that wew banded today. I wish all a speedy recovery. Now in the AM @ 7:00 is finally my turn! I'm so excited!
  6. Yes the band is sutured. They take part of the stomach fold it up over the band and suture that over the band. This makes it extra secure.
  7. During surgery you have a tube in your throat, can cause some swelling making swallowing difficult or painful but if you are concerned call your Dr.
  8. I just started clear liquids for 2 days prior to surgery. I'm starving.
  9. My doctor told me last Tuesday that 1 high carb meal could increase your liver 6x. He didn't say how many carbs that would take. But it did stop me from binging even once. Now I go in 7:00 Tuesday. All of the symptoms that all are talking about are frequent side effects of surgery, Except the vomiting. That's not as frequent. Just take them in stride. They last a minuscule amount of time compared to a lifelong lapband. It's so worth it!
  10. I've often had this trouble after surgery. Try to pee often. Don't let the discomfort get so severe that you can't take it anymore. Call the surgeon and let him know. He will know what to do. Hope all works out.
  11. My goal for 2013 is to get thin and healthy. I'd like to start dating too.
  12. Peaceful1 I totally agree with you. I think we are facing our addiction at the most difficult time of the year and telling it to F O!
  13. I had my pre-op visit today. All went well, no surprises. Only 6 days to go. I'm at 7:30. I have to be there at 6:00 :-)
  14. Yes. It is a real pain being around people who eat!! :-)
  15. I'm down to 10 days. Today is my dads 91st BD. I am so blessed. I just turned 50 this year & I'm finally taking charge. Congrats to everyone who are banded. I will soon be on the post bandwagon with you all!
  16. Good luck band buddy. I'm excited for you.
  17. The most ridiculous one I tried was a ear device that they took all theses important measurements and had this device that I wore in my left ear. Every so often throughout the day I was to wiggle it. This was supposed to put pressure on certain points to curb my appetite. It didn't work.
  18. I'm just started week 2 of the diet. It's hard. I do have cravings I just know that this is going to make surgery safer.
  19. That is awesome shrinkingcassie!! I can't wait for mine 2 weeks!
  20. I'm the 18th, I can't wait. I have been on the pre-op diet 1 week tomorrow Doing good. Not as hungary as I was the first couple of days. I log my food and drinks into MY Fitness Pal, it's a great tool and is free to use. Good luck to every one who is this week, please start posting your experiences as soon as you feel up to it, all us the rest of us decemberers would greatly appreciate it.
  21. Ok im researching protein drinks ... has anyone tried or using the isopure drinks? If you are what flavors are good? Ok. I know I only tried it once, but I tried isopure vanilla, it was horrible!!! It was very salty and flavorless.
  22. Studies have shown that the more moolah a person shells out the more successful they are. That being said, if you're like me this is my last chance to get my eating under control. I don't think I'm weak. I start to rationalize reasons for stopping diets i.e. I'm sick of it, I want to eat like everyone else, it's too hard with my schedule.... The reason I overeat most of the time, I'm hungary and I have no sense of portion control! This will help with both of those. GOODLUCK!
  23. This is my 2nd day of the pre-op diet, I'm still starving too.
  24. That scares me too. I'm not worried about the surgery.
