  1. 5 fills, 5.5cc's, think I am good with another .5cc's and I should be there.
  2. I was stuck for the 1st and 2nd time in 6 months and both times were leftovers, they went down the first time okay but the second time was not so pretty.
  3. My fav was chicken with a bit of broth or no fat gravy in a blender with a bit of cheese. After 4 weeks on liquids it tasted like heaven.
  4. I don't think of it as a diet but a lifestyle. If I could lose weight on a diet I wouldn't need surgery. There are certainly some guidelines like protein and drinking w meals, but other than that, I need to make healthy eating a choices my lifestyle, and can try anything, in moderation.
  5. 7 months out - 4 fills and minimal restriction. At 5 months out - 3 fills zero restriction. A few weeks ago you were probably still swollen from surgery. Trust me this is a marathon and no 2 people are alike. Listen to your body and be patient.
  6. My sliming was not vomited up, it just happens, fills your mouth and you have to spit it out..........not fun.
  7. I knew that the chicken was dry the first night I cooked it, added a bit of bbq sauce and it was okay. Leftovers the next day same thing....chicken was too dry. The thin crust pizza, might have been a case of not paying attention to small bites and chewing, since it was in the lunch room with other staff and we were chatting away. I don't know what has changed but I do know that I need to be focused and aware whenever I am chewing, so socializing and eating I need to be extra careful. The chicken, I should have thrown it out the first night, but I didn't. Both episodes were totally my fault. I did not vomit..........sliming is just that, saliva that is thick and slimey and you produce lost of it, need to spit it out. I am not sure when you got banded, but unless I am eating I have nothing that reminds me I have the band (except for the burping and farting but that is a whole other story), I can do anything, move in any direction and although am not a stomach sleeper, slept on my side the very first night after surgery. Hang in there and it will get better..........
  8. Gas pains lasted 3 months, on and off for me........getting up and walking helped the best. Congrats and good luck.
  9. I haven't had one tum's, zanex or a hit of reflux or indigestion since the day I started my pre op. From what I understand nighttime reflux is a sign of something wrong with the band.........go see your dr.
  10. I was banded in Sept and have had 4 fills and just had my first stuck on Sunday, second one on Tuesday. Not pretty and not fun. For me I can totally feel it and then I get a sick feeling in my stomach like I will vomit. Lots of spitting up slime and I don't recall burping but Sunday it came up - with the slime, not a heaving vomit (sorry for the description) and Monday it went down. Not sure what has changed with my band as I am crawling and fairly discouraged with the progress or lack of in the last 7 months. Pure disappontment is the truth, I am exercising, following my eating guidelines, but am hungry and frustrated. Another fill tomorrow and I am sure I am close. Now have to watch the chicken and bread products a bit more diligently.
  11. Drink away, just try not to chug or gulp.
  12. My clinic gave me all the information how to claim it.........easy peasy.
  13. I am with Empire Life in Ontario to see if they would cover any parts of the surgery and no luck. Sucks we have to pay, but on the upside, I did get a huge income tax refund because of the surgery, make sure you keep all your receipts and document your travel, if you have to travel.
  14. I am a frequent flyer and travel way too much. I flew 10 days after being banded and many flights since and have never noticed 1 iota of anything band related. Have a great trip.
  15. Stool softener asap, my nurse call me the day after surgery and she stressed taking stool softeners as that could lead to a whole world of problems...........very common with painkillers and surgeries. You should probably also be getting off those pain meds....10 days post op!
  16. One day at a time, you will do just fine. I would suggest getting a stool softener in you as well. My clinic was very concerned about constipation...........so take care of that.
  17. I have loud and deep burps and my stomach grumbles like mad, especially when I go to bed at night. Farting, yes to that too, but no smells.
  18. 2 week post op and chicken, put it in a blender with a bit of gravey or greek yog. or fat free mayo and make it like a chicke salad. It is the consistancy of peanut butter but yummy and full of protein.
  19. My dr used the term pop a stitch. I wouldn't be worried if I streached my pouch as I would be concerned if everything is where it is suppose to be (ie the band). Not sure what to say or what advise to give.
  20. I have about a 3 month supply of the strips............went a little overboard in my pre op planning.
  21. The first 6 weeks after surgery are for healing not losing. Your body has been tramatized and you are pretty much starving it, so it is not going to let go of anything and will hold onto everything you put in it. You probably are not eating enough and although my clinic wasn't concerned with the protein intake while I was in liquids, it is something you have to keep in mind to try to get some of. Try putting cottage cheese in your soups and blending it in the blender, if you had a protein drink pre op, go back to that, get some greek yoguart in you, that is high in protein. It will happen.........be patient and take care of yourself.
  22. I imagine your wife will be equally happy with the tummy that rumbles really loud, especially once you get into bed at night. The burping that would make any 6yr old proud - that subsides but never goes away, and the constant need for stool softeners/laxitives...........good luck, you are doing well. Oh and the minor hair loss, but that should stop once you get your proteins up and in.
  23. 6 months post op and still hungry.............eating less, not at restriction and hungry, but hanging in theer.
  24. I am one of those bandsters who is a very slow loser and not at restriction after 6 months. Regrets - not at all. In 6 months I have never once gained a pound, just losing very slow.
  25. Duralex is a laxitive so usually need it about every 2 weeks. Miralex, I mistakenly od's on post op because I was so worried, and that was not pretty. I probably need more of a softener than a laxitive, but haven't really gone out there and tried different things.
