Is everyone getting their list ready? And not the Christmas one ;) The list of food to purchase, Vitamins, etc.?

Does anyone need to stay overnight? I know depending on your insurance, you might be required to stay overnight. I know I don't have to, which is just fine by me.

Here's what my list looks like:

Water

Bouillon

Skim milk

Almond milk

Crystal Light

Apple juice

Grape juice

sugar-free popsicles

Ice

Ordered Unjury for Day 4, so I can start getting Protein in

Flinstones Vitamin

Biotin

Any other suggestions?

Windfury, good list! I hadn't even thought of what I needed to purchase for week 1 post-band! I have been so focused on what I could eat during the pre-op & getting through that, ha! I don't think I'll probably feel up to running to the grocery store on the way home from the surgical center, so I'd better plan a trip tomorrow. ;)

This is what my post-op list says (beginning Day 2):

Try to get in at least 2 quarts of Water per day. You may also have: cranberry juice, apple juice, white grape juice (diluted), No Sugar Added Diet Oceanspray, AquaCal, coffee, tea, water, Crystal Light, sugar free Kool-Aid, SF Jell-O, SF popsicles, chicken/beef/vegetable broth, Propel Water. ***Every morning, take your liquid Multi-Vitamin. All prescriptions are to be crushed.***

A friend of mine told me that Vitamin Shoppe offers a bariatric line of Vitamins we all might want to add to the list.

Here is a liquid vitamin:

I know liquid is hard to find in some areas.

I cheated on my pre op diet yesterday. I had some beer and my xmas party and a small plate of Pasta. I have been beating myself up all day over this. I'm worried that I may have ruined my day, which is Friday. If I can't keep on a goal during pre op am afraid temptations will doom me in the future.

Don't beat yourself up too bad, Nancy. I was reading a blog called "The Dandy Bandy" and she talks about what she eats and when she makes mistakes. It really helped me to remember that we didn't learn to over-eat and make unhealthy choices overnight, this is going to be a learning experience as well. The Band will be there to help with that *gentle* or *not-so-gentle* reminder when we over-do it or eat something that doesn't agree with the Band. And remember, the Band will not prevent us from eating anything that we want to. So, if anyone is thinking, "oh, I have to eat that because I'll never be able to again" you can stop thinking that way right now. :) What the Band WILL do is allow us to eat a smaller portion than we did before. It will allow a few bites of that yummy pasta instead of the full plate. And we will be SATISFIED with those few bites for a couple of reasons. Our Band will help us feel satiated AND we will chew our food so slowly and really get to savor the taste.

Will we still make mistakes? Abso-freaking-lutely!

Will we learn from them immediately instead of 20lbs later? Without a doubt!!

Big hugs from another Houston Bandster. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
