Well I have some very bad news. When they opened me up to do revision' date=' there was so much scar tissue that it could not be done. I am left with 5 holes that will take a couple weeks to heal, lots of physical and emotional pain. So glad I believe in the saying, everything happens for a reason or I would be really messed up. Best of everything to all of you in your weight loss and healthy lifestyles![/quote']

I'm so sorry. I'm at a lost for words.

Good luck everyone who's having surgery today. I have been on the Protein shakes' date=' broths, Jello and ice pops for 11 days. My surgery is next Tuesday. My stomach is not handling these shakes very well. Anyone else having these problems??? I can't wait for cottage cheese. Never thought I would say that. LOL.[/quote']

I just got banded on 11/1 and did the pre-op diet for 2 wks before, which included mostly Protein Shakes. Unfortunately, they really upset my stomach too. I think for me it's because of all the artificial sweetener. I found a brand called primal fuel that's pretty good. It uses all natural ingredients.

Just got thru surgery last night, Nov 2....so I did end up staying the night in hospital. So far since home 11am on to now 4pm, I have downed about 35 oz including 30 grams of Protein. No gas pains, 6 cuts, largest 1.5 inches it looks like. More sore if I move in getting up or down, walking fine. Sugar count was high after surgery but fine now. Good to be on the other side......

I had double insurance coverage in July and my primary would not approve the lapband but the secondary would. I actually quit my job so I wouldn't have the coverage that was stopping me from having the procedure. I am thrilled that I am getting banded on November 9! That's next week, I'm excited and a nervous wreck but looking forward to a soupy thanksgiving for sure!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
