Suggestions For Birthday

Recommended Posts

My husband's birthday is coming up soon. He is a gastric sleeve pt & I had the LapBand. This will be the first birthday since having our surgeries. Just looking for some suggestions instead of cake!!! I have heard angel food cake is ok? Just looking for suggestions for "the new normal" when it comes to these situations. Thanks!!!

congrats to you both, I cannot eat soft bread or I assume cake so I might try something a little more crisp maybe a fruit crisp or a strawberry parfait. Happy birthday :)

How about ice cream cake? While I grant you it is not diet food I firmly believe that EVERYONE deserves birthday cake. I know my grocery store sell Carvel, and Carvel has 'individual' serving cakes- probably really 4 servings, and it won't get stuck.

a birthday is a birthday and meant for celebrating--so EAT

how about one of those (small cakes)? or those singles they make?

just because there is cake in the house, doesnt mean its off limits or you have to

eat the whole thing.

i love angel food cakes (and for my birthday, at work and my hub at home, puts a can of cherry pie filling on it.

and again, one piece wont hurt.

we are not dieting. we are not afraid of food.< /p>

live for life.....not living for food

Mini fruit Tarts, so easy to make and you won't have to worry about soft bread/dough.

Frozen tarts from your freezer section

Filling: vanilla pudding

Topping: fresh fruit of your choice, example strawberries/blueberries/raspberries

*you can squeeze a little fresh lemon over them*

( you can put a candle in a few to make a wish)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
