I Want To Get A Fill Now!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I was banded 9/4. My 1st dr. Appt was 8 days post op and lost a total of 14 pounds. It was just a follow up appt. so no fill was done. I'm beginning to notice that I am getting hungrier as the days go on. My 1st fill is scheduled for 9/24, I'm wondering if I request a fill sooner would they do it. I know all I can do is ask. Have anyone of you asked for a fill sooner and was approved for it?

Every doc is different. I did ask mine and he ok'd a fill at 2 weeks instead of 4. Good luck!

Mine had me wait 5 weeks before my first for my stomach to heal. I have not had a single episode of throwing up and I am glad that he was slow with me... being filled doesn't fix everything and I'm even a few months out and still haven't gotten the restriction I'm hoping for but I know it will come. This next part is hard but don't rush it, take it slow and learn to make the changes you need for your whole life. It will come soon enough. Hang in there.

Mine made me wait 2 months because I was losing steady.... But I was also dieting very strictly. Talk to him about it.

I know I should be patient but its hard. I have not had any issues thank god. I just want to feel like I have restriction. Other than the incision sites I don't feel like I have been banded at all.

The 1st week I felt restriction but that was because I was swollen from the surgery, after that it felt like there was no band. I was so hungry all the time and was able to eat the same way I did before the surgery. I asked the dr and she said surgery was to place the band, it had no fill. I think that may be the same with you, surgery is just to place the band, then 2-4 weeks you get a fill, at least that is what my dr did.

I am going through the same thing, banded on 9/4. I felt restriction from the swelling for the first week. Now I get so hungry, I get my first fill, 4cc on 10/4! I can't wait, I hope it feels like it did that first week! I'm trying to stick to my 1200 calories, I'm getting in my protien, and I went back to the gym, just not doing any abdominal stuff. I have only list 2 pounds since surgery.

my place only gives 1cc max per fill. if u say the wrong thing u leave with .3 or .5cc instead of a full fill ... learning curve on my end. but it sux that the nurses are the ones that have the power to fill, withdraw or withhold fills. hard pill to swallow for this control freak :/

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
