I Want To Get A Fill Now!

Hey guys, I was banded 9/4. My 1st dr. Appt was 8 days post op and lost a total of 14 pounds. It was just a follow up appt. so no fill was done. I'm beginning to notice that I am getting hungrier as the days go on. My 1st fill is scheduled for 9/24, I'm wondering if I request a fill sooner would they do it. I know all I can do is ask. Have anyone of you asked for a fill sooner and was approved for it?

Every doc is different. I did ask mine and he ok'd a fill at 2 weeks instead of 4. Good luck!

Mine had me wait 5 weeks before my first for my stomach to heal. I have not had a single episode of throwing up and I am glad that he was slow with me... being filled doesn't fix everything and I'm even a few months out and still haven't gotten the restriction I'm hoping for but I know it will come. This next part is hard but don't rush it, take it slow and learn to make the changes you need for your whole life. It will come soon enough. Hang in there.

Mine made me wait 2 months because I was losing steady.... But I was also dieting very strictly. Talk to him about it.

I was banded on 8\27 and only down 12 lbs and feel like its not moving in a week. Don't have first fill till 10\9 hope things pick up again.

I know I should be patient but its hard. I have not had any issues thank god. I just want to feel like I have restriction. Other than the incision sites I don't feel like I have been banded at all.

Well I had my 1st fill today...5ccs=success. I felt no pain and didn't even feel the needle go in.

I don't get my first fill until the 12th but I have felt like I don't have a band at all or worried it was in the wrong spot.i don't even feel it when I swallow food.is this how you felt before yours?

The 1st week I felt restriction but that was because I was swollen from the surgery, after that it felt like there was no band. I was so hungry all the time and was able to eat the same way I did before the surgery. I asked the dr and she said surgery was to place the band, it had no fill. I think that may be the same with you, surgery is just to place the band, then 2-4 weeks you get a fill, at least that is what my dr did.

I feel the same way..I had surgery on 9/12 and I do not feel any different..I have been following exactly what the doctor says but I would like to feel some sort of restriction...someone please tell me this will change and the weight loss will come once I have a full...I am down 19 pounds already but I am hungry all the time!!! Please some advice from the experienced banders

I was banded 9/17 and felt restricted for about 24 hours. I hvae my post op appt 9/27 and am going to ask for a fill bc I am so HUNGRY. All the time. Real hunger. Hope my Dr fills me tho I doubt he will bc the steristrips haven't even fallen off... :(

I am going through the same thing, banded on 9/4. I felt restriction from the swelling for the first week. Now I get so hungry, I get my first fill, 4cc on 10/4! I can't wait, I hope it feels like it did that first week! I'm trying to stick to my 1200 calories, I'm getting in my protien, and I went back to the gym, just not doing any abdominal stuff. I have only list 2 pounds since surgery.

I didn't get my fill till 6 weeks after my surgery..I've had 2 fills now and think I'm finally in the green zone...banded 6/11

my place only gives 1cc max per fill. if u say the wrong thing u leave with .3 or .5cc instead of a full fill ... learning curve on my end. but it sux that the nurses are the ones that have the power to fill, withdraw or withhold fills. hard pill to swallow for this control freak :/
