@ icestorm....I am no longer having my periods that frequently. The horomone therapy has helped. I just dont want to be on horomones any longer. And yes I have already been seeing my Gyno. I will most likely have the abulation next month if my insurance approves it.

I had the uterine ablation done and it was the best thing I could have done. I still have my period, but it is so light its almost funny! I had my ablation done almost 4 years ago. I am only 2 weeks banded, and down 18 lbs, and I was wondering if my periods may cease alltogether. Any advice or suggestions?

I am going to have ablation done within the month and I don't know what to expect. My periods are so bad now that anything will be better. I am perimenopausal and the dr. thinks that ablation will delay the need for hormone replacement therapy. Any experiences that anyone cares to share?

When I had the ablation done, it was done as a same day procedure. I came home and layed on the couch and watched tv and slept. There was no pain or discomfort for me. I spotted over the next 6 weeks - this is what they referred to as my uterus "weeping". It wasn't as bad as a period. My periods got much less severe over a few months. I am no longer anemic! it has been almost 4 years since I had my procedure done, and I would recommend it to anyone who is done having babies. My periods are regular and incredibly light. Good luck to you! ( I am speaking from a pre-band experience, I don't know what post-band will be like)

Glad to hear that it wasn't bad. They found a cervical polyp when they did my exam and they don't know if that's why my periods have gotten so heavy. Either way, the ablation will be done since I am 2+ years post banding and am suffering major Iron loss each month. I have been struggling with Vitamin deficiencies for the last 10 months so its too hard on my body. Just a word of warning-take your vitamins-exactly as recommended!!!

The ablation for me was the best thing ever! I didn't like going on vacation or any where when I was having my period, way too much changing time for me! Now, almost 4 yrs later, sometimes a panty line is more than enough protection. I hope you have as good as an experience as I did :) (the only real draw back was there is no sex for 6 weeks!)

I had the abalation in 7/09 and haven't had a period since. It saved my life. Mine was also an outpt procedure. I had it at 45.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
