Right Shoulder Peircing When Eating

Recommended Posts

I am 5 weeks out from surgery and just had a fill on Friday, I just started noticing that when I eat, I have this pain in my front right shoulder? It's like someone is poking me in the front shoulder when I eat. It's with every bite, so it's not from being full. I don't believe I'm eating too fast and I definitely chew, chew, chew. And it does not happen when I drink. Anyone have this?

I'm no expert, but based on all the reading I've been doing (probably *weigh* too much), it sounds like it could be gas pains. I've heard this is very common & it's in the area you mentioned. I also read to try GASx strips to help. I don't know if they work but I'd be curious to know so I could use this same advice when I get my surgery this Friday. :o Good luck!

I'm 5 weeks out also and have had this happen the last few nights after I eat my dinner. I take my time to eat and chew thiroughly and I dont eat more than half a cup if food. I'm ok with my Water and I drink two litres a day it's just at night time after I'm done with dinner. I was eating more a week ago and didn't experience this. Will be interested in the replies too. Don't think it's gas.

Summerrain, is it just after you eat? If so, I have read on here it is some people's signal they are full or eating too fast, maybe this is a possibility? Mine happens from the first bite throughout the entire meal, so I know that's not it. I agree I don't think it's gas and I think the gas pain is usually in the left shoulder, had fun with that after the surgery :)

I am almost 2 years post op and get the same thing occasionally. It is a signal for me that I have either eaten too much or am not chewing well enough. Good luck to you!!!

It starts after I eat, I'm taking my time to chew thoroughly and small bites and I'm taking 20 mins or more to eat and stop as soon as I'm no longer hungry. Maybe it is my sign to say ok you've had enough. I've also noticed it happens when I've had a non stop day. I'll ask about this when I go for my third full next Tuesday.

Maybe you are right muelle even though I think I've slowed down I may need to slow down even more when eating. I'll do that and see how it goes, it's more annoying and uncomfortable than painful.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
