My endoscopy results

Recommended Posts

I am so glad you stated first things first, my heart could not take the worry. You can not imagine my relief when I read it so I'm sure I can't imagine your relief when you got the news. Still the waiting game to find out if you can keep the band is a bummer.

One thing about it, a few months will give you a chance to make the best out of the unfill and still have the band. I'm so happy there was NO erosion....Hugs!

Glad all is well! Wondering, though, why an endoscopy was needed..wouldn't the dilated esophagus and too-tight fill have been easily seen on a fluoro too? Renee

I wondered that too, but with all the erosions lately I was on board with the endo. A barium swallow wouldn't have been able to tell the condition of the lining of my esophagus, and personally that was what worried me the most. The ongoing irritation of my esophagus and stomach was the really unusual symptom that brought me to the doctor in the first place.

Footnote: I FEEL GREAT TODAY!! I slept ALL NIGHT in my bed next to my ever-patient hubby, and woke up totally refreshed for the first time in weeks.

YAHOOOO!!! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Now that's the best news yet!! So glad you can sleep again!! Hopefully the unfill & time to heal will be all you need. I'm glad you got scoped, so you know for sure!

than a lot of the posts i've read. i know you weighed a little less

than me, but could i have a little more detail about your loss as

someone who started out kinda large?? no offense, just want to hear

from someone who may share a few things at that size--thanks!!:nervous

Hi Alex,

Glad to hear that you are doing better. Is it possible that your doc is partially right? That the bronchitis you caught from your kids was exacerbated by mild reflux from being too tight??? I understand the allergies though. I do get really restricted when I have an allergy attack...

You are so lucky to have been through all that and come clean without the Big E and smart enough to do all your own research before, during and after seeing your physician. While I agree that I had more frequent/longer lasting bronchial problems while banded, I can't agree they were band related since I only got sick after being around people with that same bug.

Well, it's certainly true that everything is connected, so I guess I can't rule that out. Being banded changes our internal anatomy to some extent, and fluids just can't move along they way they used to. So when our bodies are producing more Fluid than usual, things can go awry. So we catch bugs from other people, but the effect may be made worse because of the band.

Live and learn... I'm stocking up on Sudafed for the upcoming spring allergy season!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
