I am a corporate recruiter took 7 business days off including day of surgery. Had two week ends as well so 11 days.

hi i worked in a shop at the time of surgery i took 6 weeks off i had to lift heavy boxes hope this helps you

I work in a residential group home with 12 children. I am just planning on taking a week off and hopefully will avoid too much heavy lifting.

retired, took a week off of my volunteer work

lassie

I have a desk job but plan on taking two weeks.

I'm a bartender, went back after a week didn't do any heavy lifting for 3 weeks

Had a home day care when I was banded. Had surgery on Thursday and back to work on Monday.

I'm a digital media technician. I watch and QC HD movie trailers and commercials before they are distributed to the TV stations. I sit at a desk most of the day. I took off 3 days + the weekend so 5 days total.

I sit at a desk for 8 hours. My plan was to take 6 days of work off but start teleworking from home perhaps by day 4.

Okay 1) xsentrick you're job sounds like SO much fun. Do you love your job?

And 2) I run a Physical Therapy office. I'm at my desk half of the time, and up and around the other half. I had surgery on a Friday, took the weekend off and was back Monday - - but I have an insanely high pain tolerance and saved vacation time for Vegas next month :)

Jen, I have been doing my job for almost 10 years now and it never gets old! Yes I love it very much! Being a huge movie buff I really enjoy seeing the movie trailers before anyone else...Of course I also have to watch some pretty crappy commercials too.

Life is so much nicer when you love your job. Mine is super fun, meeting new people all the time and the people I work with are great. If you HAVE to do something, it may as well be something you enjoy, right?!

Your job has that reward of helping others and I think that is so awesome! Love loving our jobs!

I'm a teacher and had surgery my first day of summer vacation. Surgery Monday, hubby went out of town Wednesday and left me with the kids and by Thursday I was driving myself to run errands. Hardest part was not being able to hold my 4 year old or help her into my elevated bed (that was a b***h for me to climb into already!)

If I had been at work I would have taken at least a week off. I'm constantly moving at work so one week might not have been enough, as I'm a vo-tech teacher and my job is mainly hands on skills.
