So I woke up this morning around 8:00 and decided to go walking I walked about a mile. It felt good to get out and get started early. Now I'm back home about to get started on some free weights

Normally, I get out around 8:30 or 8:45 and walk about 40-45 minutes. Today, I did that, then came home and picked weeds for about 40 mins. My yard man s on 2 weeks vacation. After that, while the men were taking ab break with some lemonade, I pushed the mower a bit. Pretty good cardio day. I was wet with seat by the time I came in! whatever you do to increase your heart rate and get exercise is good!

it does not matter what you do for cardio, as long as you do it. gardening is a wonderful activity for cardio, as is walking outside with your dog or doing a challenging pace at the treadmill on the gym. What matters is you start off slowly and work your way up to your "best" and work on improving from there. I know it's not easy esp. if working out was not a thing on your list before surgery, but exercise is a part of banded life. Also walking is easy anyone can do it and it's easier then some of those workout videos/dvds.

Some individuals see walking as an "inferior" alternative to running, however, it's all about your heart rate. You burn the most amount of calories in the fat burning range (around 120-160 beats per minute); I find when I run, I actually move up into the "cardiovascular traning range." One supplement I love during cardio is ALR Industries, Chain'd Out, which is a branch chain amino acid. All around healthy product and keeps your focus and stamina up, as well as keeping your body fed.

Anume,

Congrats! Walking is an excellent form of exercise - especially if you "dig in" and track your progress - increase a little each time. Look at your speed as well as your distance - the combo is what matters. A great Free app is Mapmywalk - you take your phone on the walk and it tracks your speed and distance and maps it - even keeps your history so you can see your improvement. I found it was helpful to make sure my walk stayed "exercise" and didn't become a "stroll".

Take it to the next level ?? Get a heart rate monitor and work toward your rate of perceived exertion http://www.acefitness.org/fitfacts/fitfacts_display.aspx?itemid=48

Good luck on your successful journey : )

Hope in your Future is Power in your Present!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
