Hello everyone,

I was banded early this morning. I actually feel really good and having no issues with liquids whatsoever. I even had a Protein Shake and went down and stayed down just fine. This is all good right? I do feel weird and a little sore. My only real concern at this point is that I feel really bloated, not sick or anything, just like everything is expanded. I have not had any gas yet, other than a few small belches. I have been walking around with no issues. So far does all of this sound normal? Thanks everyone.

I also felt bloated for a few days post-op. Keep moving and take your pain meds if you need them. Congrats and good luck!

Feeling about the same as you are. I had surgery on Wednesday and am still feeling bloated and "tight". I also had a hiatal hernia fixed so I'm pretty sore from that, especially when I feel the need to take a deep breath. This too shall pass, right? Hang in there, it'll get better!

Sounds great so far, and congrats on your surgery! My first two days after I felt a bit weird, but on my 5th day out, I am feeling great. I have noticed some bloating, but that went down before I even left the hospital.

Everything you're experiencing sounds totally normal! That yucky feeling will be gone in a week or so. Remember pain meds are your friend.

And congrats on starting the journey. :)

I had mine on Thur. I am pretty sore esp in my back. I just can't get comfortable, I'm at a point when I want to be able to do more and just don't seem to. I also have more soreness in my incisions than before. Any suggestions on what I can do to help with this. I also wanted to know if anyone else felt nauseated it seems to come and go.

Lindabug, I have had the same symptoms as you. I was banded on 7/24/12. The only pain I am still experiencing in around my incisions and what is left of the gas in my shoulders and lower neck. I notice the more I move the better I feel but I also get tired very quick. As far as nausea, I feel it a lot! I woke up around 4:00am on Thursday morning throwing up and called the doctor who prescribed me phenergan. Even when I take the phenergan sometimes I still feel nauseous. I think part of it is our body's automatic response to the construction in our stomach. Hoping this will improve soon!

Sounds normal :) I was banded Tuesday and that first day was actually the easiest for me because the hospital pain meds are so much better than what they gave me! I started getting the gas and chest pain the next day. Yesterday was by far my worst day but I'm feeling much better today other than some chest/neck pain. Good luck!!

I was like this for about a week or two post op! I was super bloated and was walking around. I did take gas x strips like others mentioned to help. I gained about 15 ls after surgery which was all Fluid and gas, then one night it miraculously came off. I noticed from clothes being looser that my stomach had gone down and the scale said I weighed less! It was the weirdest thing ever!

Thanks tonight has been better than the day was I'm trying to walk around more this does seem to help a lot. I am very bloated in my middle section and got on the scale today and was 3 pds up from before surgery but I'm sure that's just from the Fluid and all not like I've been eating much. Right this second I have on a bra because my son in law is here but it's killing me so it's going to have to go :0!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
