Pressure In Swimming Pools

Recommended Posts

THe last couple of times, I've been swimming especially in inground pools my band gets extremely TIGHT. I can't eat anything solid right now :( I've been banded around 16 months. I've been losing fine & wld consider myself in the green zone.

Anyone else have this experience?

Could be b/c of the temperature. I've only been banded 2wks but I've heard cold foods/drinks could make it tight. That'd be my only thought.

I swim/do Water aerobic every day in a pool that is on the cold side. Never had a problem. In fact I am always hungry after a work out.

I'm a swim and Water aerobics instructor. Swimming can be anaerobic and aerobic depending on how you work out in the pool because you are in the water you don't really know how much you are sweating and are dehydrating your body and us banded patients will notice this even more I find after a workout in the pool if I immediately drink 20-40 oz of water I don't have problems with my Protein Drink or a light meal.

Thanks so much! I think it was just a Combo of the heat, alcohol, and being outside swimming all day long. I did not drink Water how I shdve, and I did have some drinks :( lessoned learned.

I SCUBA quite a bit and have never had a problem with my band. I checked with other banded divers before I got mine and was told it's a non-issue. I do not eat anything before I get on the boat to dive, however. But I didn't do that before I had the band, either.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
