Marriage & Lap Band Results

Recommended Posts

I have a great man who loves my curves or flab, whatever we want to call it...he calls it curves. I was also big when we started dating. I have gained and lost several times. This time I was at my biggest and having health complications. I had my surgery a month ago and am

Down 30 lbs! The great thing is that I am now motivating my husband to diet and exercise!!! E doesn't have as much to lose as me but it is something we are now doing together. He knows I want healthy or happy with myself the way I was and supports me 100%! That's love and I am sure he will love me when I am happier and healthier too. Beauty is within whether yiu are bigger or smaller!

My fiance and I have been together 14 years.... And when we started dating I was 150lbs.... Before surgery I was 273.... Between that time I gained and lost weight like a yo-yo.... I would lose 40 lbs and then gain 50 back... Many times we discussed my weight... He is a very honest person and won't lie to me to make me happy, so it crushed me the day he told me he wasn't "attracted" to me anymore.... Not that he didn't love me, but he worried more about my health then enjoyed looking at me. It wasn't really until that day I realized how large I had gotten.

When I decided to look into lapband he was 100% behind me... He even helped me research it... Would look into success/ fail ratios, what you need to do before, during, and after surgery and weight loss... Before I even walked into the Dr's office for my first consultation, I knew exactly what I was getting into and was very excited!

now 2 months after my surgery and 30 lbs gone, I have more confidence, feel sexier.... And the best thing is every day he tells me how much he is loving my new body... I believe that people are attracted by looks at the beginning... But after a period of time people are attracted to personaliti, and the physical you is just an added bonus.

As long as you are happy in your new body, you will give off the sense that you ARE sexy, and confident.... Even If you don't have as many curves.... And your husband will feed off of your attitude.... IMO...

Good luck with everything!! Hope this helped...

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
