When You Get To Your Goal Weight, How Do You Plan To Reward Your Self??

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I like to give myself little rewards when I achieve my weekly goals that I set myself! Eg: go to the movies, go out for dinner, buy an item of clothing, buy a new handbag etc...

Is there anyone else who does this?? And what type of things do you reward your self with?

How will/did you reward yourself BIG when you get/got to goal weight?

I plan on getting a tattoo that I've wanted for yearrrrrrs... :-D but I have never had the balls to get it... So I made it my reward! ;-)

Ty and I will be married when we are our goal weights! We already know we will be married, I just can't wait to have the biggest party of my life (reception) in the dress I can only imagine myself when I am at my goal, and he said he was ok with waiting if I was.

Aww, I love this question. :)

I have not decided how to reward myself along the way.

But when I get to my ultimate goal weight I want to go on vacation to Australia, New Zealand,

or Hawaii. Gotta go somewhere with a beach to show off my new body ;)

I'm waiting for my surgery date, but I've decided I'm going on a cruise with one of my bff's who just had the sleeve done. We're excited to go and wear bikinis for the first time ever. :)

I may get another tattoo (or two, lol) or my nose pierced, I haven't decided. I need to see how my current tats hold up to the weight loss, and then I'll see where to go from there!

good question ! I never thought of a reward, as i felt my newly slim healthy body would be my reward , but i love the idea of a ring as a reminder of my accomplishment. Great idea !( I do love silver and diamonds !)

When I first started my journey I thought about how I would reward myself too! Somewhere along the way in this past year the constant weight loss distracted me and when I reached my goal (I lost 150 pounds in one year) I completely forgot about that. I'm skinny now hehe... what an AWESOME reward!! I wear size 4 jeans and size small shirts now... REWARD! Honestly, I can't think of a single thing I could give myself that would outshine what I have already done for me~ a new body is about the best reward I can imagine! Happy Losing Everyone!! Trust me, it's BEYOND worth every struggle you will encounter! :P

Considering the best reward will be the weight loss and goals. While I haven't given it a thought yet because I am not banded, however I know this sounds ridiculous, but I always wanted a leather jacket. I could own one if I want, but at my weight honestly I never thought I would look good in one. I don't want a long one, I want a short one hopefully one that will show off my weight loss and accentuate my figure.

Great question, and loved all the answers :)

The first six months I could eat whatever I wanted.. just not a lot. The last six months my restriction kept me from eating things like bread, rice, lettuce, hamburger and chicken that wasn't super moist... but strangely enough I've always been able to eat steak!! I think it's because the texture of it lets me chew it so well that it just goes down easily. So.. I've sure eaten a lot of steak lol! I don't honestly eat a lot ever now. My meals are very small, and everyone freaks out about that, but obviously I'm eating enough. I'm healthy, and never go hungry! ;) I really miss eating salads, but I can't chew lettuce well enough I guess so it never settles well. I love that it takes very little to satisfy me but that also makes me need to constantly be aware of what I do eat because it has to count!

I just started my weight loss journey, but I would really like to reward myself by being able to enjoy an awesome roller coaster ride!! I remember I used to love them until I got to big and no longer fit in them! My excuse has always been I don't like to ride them or I'm afraid! But the truth is I'm to embarrassed to say I can't ride them because I'm too fat! But I know I will (hopefully soon) be able to ride them again! :)

Great question !! Im not sure if this is a "reward" or not, but my goal was to lose 85 to 100 lbs. Im almost half way there (45 lbs) , and while our 25 th wedding anniverary is coming up in July, we have neither the time or money to do anything. So........... I suggested to hubby that next summer (2013) we Celebrate late by going to Alaska on a guided fishing trip ( where you stay in the cabins, they do all the cooking and they take you out on the fishing boats etc.) By then i will be a normal weight (140-125) and will feel much more comfortable climbing in and out of a small plane, and not sinking the boat ! That will definetly be my "reward !!!!"

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
