Down 70 Lbs.....today....underland

Recommended Posts

Coming up on my 6 months. I have lost 70 pounds and am finally in UNDERLAND. This has been exciting and rewarding in so many ways. Fills went great...had 1 overfill and that was painful. Went from a 24W in jeans to a 14 regular.

My husband banded the same week and is down 79 pounds.

Life is good....

I think the key to my success was that I committed to losing the weight. I prepared (and still do) all my meals for the week. (except for Friday night I go out for dinner).

I kept a food journal for the first 4 months. I never eat a large meal past 7 p.m. but I will have a small snack sometimes in the evenings.

While I was losing I got weighed and measured once a month by my family doctor... I don't own scales. I found this kept me motivated and on track.

I still get weighed in every month with my family doctor and I still meet a group a bandsters for coffee every month for coffee. Support from other bandsters also was a big key to my success.

I do exercise a little... I walk and use light hand and ankle weights.

That's great Linda D. , it's taking me 11 months to lose 65 lbs . But I did just get my self in gear! Still need to exercise .

After I posted my big loss; lots of stuff going on a death in the family and my husband had knee surgery. Was really concerned that I would return to my old habits...NOPE. lost 3 more pounds.

I have knees waiting for surgery so my exercise is limited to my work schedule.

I have not had a piece of candy, any type of sweet, no soda, and mostly NO chips.

I was scared to death my hair was going to fall out so I really hit it hard on Protein, Oh Yea shakes are the best 32grams of protein. Have to admit I am hooked on Greek yogurt, another big protein.

My big treat each day is dinner....typically have a small baked potato and meat. I love my baked potato.

Most important we did it together life was easier.

Best advise ????stay away from slider foods and drink lots of Water, tea, my doc said coffee is fine also. Thank goodness.

Went to the family funeral.....and no one recognized me....so cool.

That is Fantastic Linda!! I am in my 2nd week of being banded, I have lost 21 lbs this month with the pre-op liquid diet, and now the band with post op liquid diet.. I am walking, just about 1 1/2 miles daily, but nothing too straining yet.. had a lot of problems with post op pain and gas which is only now just resolving... I am 9 days post op... I hope I can post a 70lb loss at 6 months!! WTG!! I'm sorry for your loss..stay strong.. you can get through this.. I'm also going through this with my hubby. he is not banded, but is changing his eating habits with me.. xxx your post makes me hopeful!! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
