Just wondering if most people came home from the hospital the first day or stayed overnight. Thanks for the input.

My surgery was late afternoon. I stayed overnight and left before 12 the next day. Personally I think staying overnight is good for you.

I thought since my surgery was at 7:30 am that I would be going home same day. Just found out that my insurance says I have to stay 24 hours. I thought that was interesting.

My insurance said I have to stay 23 hours but it will ultimately be up to the hospital. I don't mind staying. It's nice to be cared for if there are any complications.

I had the choice of staying overnight or leaving.

I had surgery at 11:00 am and went home at 7:00 pm.

I had some pain that was relieved with the pain meds.

I believe you are more comfortable at home in your own bed.

I had my surgery around 9:00 A.M. and was released around 5:30 P.M., I would have rather stayed overnight but everything was fine. Once I was able to urinate I was released from the hospital. I went home and did quite well. Felt wonderful the next morning. I think I over did it the next morning because by the night I didn't feel as well. The lesson to this story is When you feel better do less -:)

I had my surgery at 7:30am and I was home by noon. I wish I could've stayed overnight because I could've billed my aflac. Haha

I'm scheduled for this Friday, surgery at 11:30 and they said as long as all goes according to plan I should be home by early evening. I bounce back great from surgery though, and have certainly had enough experience under the knife...I think it varies on the person and insurance.

I had my surgery 2 1/2 yrs ago and stayed overnight. It's a requirement of Medicare I think. I had my surgery at 8 am, back to my room by 10. Slept off and on all day, up walking by 6 pm. The next morning, I had my barium swallow and was out by 9am. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
