Can You Get Stuck Without A Fill?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I was just curious can you get "stuck" before your first fill? I'm 20 days post-op, wasn't filled during my surgery, so my band is liquid free.

Yes it would be possible to get stuck as the band is like a belt around your waist, it still may be a little tight just in size alone so in theory it is possible , which is why some people can feel restriction from day 1 even without fills. Imagine a belt of waist 30 inches it will fit alot of people some it will be a little loose, some the perfect size and some a little tight .. the fills then make the band the perfect size just for you .. a simplistic explanation but i hope it makes sense :)

I'm one of those people mentioned who have felt restriction from day 1. My band is still empty 3 months after surgery, due to some complications I had post op.

I have not gotten any food stuck, but I did have one of my prescription pills get stuck. It was pretty awful...I could feel a burning sensation for about 10 minutes until it finally went down. Since then, I am extra careful to eat slowly, take small bites, and chew each bite many times!

Yes, I have no fill and have gotten stuck on scrambled eggs. Very unpleasant.

Yes, The band itself is suppose to give you some restriction, some people are not the same but my band did give me restriction.

I also wondered this. I am 1 week post op. I feel full after a little amount of food. I am always thirsty and drink after I eat. I try to wait atleast an hour, but i am not always successful. I still feel full if I drink too soon. Does anyone else do this?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
