May 9, 201214 yr Hi, I was just curious can you get "stuck" before your first fill? I'm 20 days post-op, wasn't filled during my surgery, so my band is liquid free.
May 9, 201214 yr Yes it would be possible to get stuck as the band is like a belt around your waist, it still may be a little tight just in size alone so in theory it is possible , which is why some people can feel restriction from day 1 even without fills. Imagine a belt of waist 30 inches it will fit alot of people some it will be a little loose, some the perfect size and some a little tight .. the fills then make the band the perfect size just for you .. a simplistic explanation but i hope it makes sense

I'm one of those people mentioned who have felt restriction from day 1. My band is still empty 3 months after surgery, due to some complications I had post op. I have not gotten any food stuck, but I did have one of my prescription pills get stuck. It was pretty awful...I could feel a burning sensation for about 10 minutes until it finally went down. Since then, I am extra careful to eat slowly, take small bites, and chew each bite many times!

May 30, 201214 yr Yes, The band itself is suppose to give you some restriction, some people are not the same but my band did give me restriction.
May 30, 201214 yr I also wondered this. I am 1 week post op. I feel full after a little amount of food. I am always thirsty and drink after I eat. I try to wait atleast an hour, but i am not always successful. I still feel full if I drink too soon. Does anyone else do this?
